Scottish McHottie Kevin McKidd Joins The Cast Of 'Grey's Anatomy'

First, there was Patrick Dempsey, otherwise known as "McDreamy." Then there was Eric Dane, a.k.a. "McSteamy." Now meet Grey's Anatomy's newest cast member, "Major McHottie" Kevin McKidd.

McKidd joins the cast of the popular dramedy as Dr. Owen Hunt, an Iraq war medic suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder who becomes enamored with Sandra Oh.

The recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series, Grey's Anatomy is in gear for its fifth season. The show follows residents at Seattle Grace Hospital, Meredith, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev as they undergo tumults both personal and professional.

McKidd is a Scottish actor best known for his prominent television roles as Lucius Vorenus on Rome and as Dan Vasser on Journeyman. His early film credits include his role as include Tommy in Trainspotting, as well as appearances in Kingdom of Heaven, and the 2002 film adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby. He was most recently in the romantic comedy Made of Honor
