Rob Schneider Gets Lean And Mean In 'Big Stan'

Big Stan marks Rob Schneider's directorial debut.
The 2008 comedy flick features Schneider as Stan Minton--a con man that is found guilty of cheating mostly elderly women out of their retirement saving on fraudulent vacation properties. Upon hearing the news from an ex-prison inmate that his frail and weak body will be "loved" by all of the large men in jail, Minton, with the help of The Master (David Carradine), transforms into "Big Stan," a lean and mean fighting machine. When he is finally shipped off to be condemned, Minton uses his new look and persona to bridge warring gangs and establish peace inside the prison walls.
A San Francisco, California native, Schneider was a veteran of Saturday Night Live, going on to pursue starring roles in fillms such as The Hot Chick and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. The latter film was followed by Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, which won Schneider a 2005 Worst Actor Razzie Award for his role in the film.
Big Stan is out on DVD now. Schneider will be signing copies of the DVD at J&R Music and Computer World (23 Park Row) today at 12:30pm.
