Once again the rich man cry baby. Stop eating the big lunches and you would not spend so much.

I know a few people who work for the MTA and they have hours between their schedule where they do nothing but continue to get paid. One is a train conductor and when he is not driving trains at night he moves trains within the train yard. No trains to move he watches TV or takes a nap, and whose paying him to take a nap the commuters. IT is ridicules.

I THINK THIS CRAZY BECAUSE THEY WANT MONERY IN THEY PACK.THEY NO WHAT THEY DOING. THIS WORLD NEED TO STOP BECAUSE THIS NOT MAKR ANY SENCE.

This is very frustrating. First I have witnessed personally a decline in service since the last fare increase. It sometimes seems like a strong arm tactic to purposely decrease quality and service to justify the need for more money. The truth is that we need the mass transit system and created it to service our citizens, but now it appears to have developed in to a monopoly,it should be broken up ad restored to the original or similar organizations, BMT, IRT etc....
What is being overlooked is the fact that we pay twice to use a system created to serve the public. We pay for actual rides and we pay through the subsidies that MTA receives through our taxes. Doesn't this system work on the very real estate that we as citizens own. Shouldn't a system that was created for us ,by us and through the blood and sweat of our citizens be governed by us?

The employees of the NYCTA who actually do the day to day work of running the system totally disagree with the way the so called buget crisis is being remedied. The real deal is if the Authority got rid of some its top heavy supervisory personnel there'd be no call for a fare increase. For example on eack sbway line in the system there is a line superindendant for every shift ( midnight, AM, PM) they each have an asistant, who has an asistant, and that line superindendant has a supervisor he answers to.... WHY? There are station Superintendants who are incharge of the Station supervisors who have asistance, etc., etc., etc., None of these people can operate a train(Motorman) or open and close doors( Conductor), sell a token or metrocard(clerk), or clean anything( cleaners and ports).

This is unfair for us the riders. They are cutting jobs, they are giving us poor service, OMG have u tried taking a subway on the weekend in brooklyn? soooo un fair. They suck, they have money we dont, i mean sure they need more but who doesnt.

Have the head honcho's of the MTA take a 50% pay cut, and do away with their other perks! Take that money and put it back into the system. Better yet, find out the average salary of a N.Y.C. resident and pay them that salary and let them live on that.
It's like anything else SCREW THE POOR!

Personally, If president obama is serious about more jobs. He can start by creating a team that will oversee the book of certain business finances. MTA fair hike Please, The MTA needs a total make over. There finances are messed up & its clear that whoever is in charge of there finances needs major help..!

Sincerely,

Just as you guys posted the Question of the day about the MTA's fare hike proposal, my fiancee just called me to say that the bus she waited almost 25 minutes for (Rush hour service, yeah right) never stopped and passed her and about 20 other people right by. She lives in South Jamaica,Queens and takes the Q40. That bus is by far one of the worst. And people always crowd near the front of the bus, and when you look at the back, there's so much room, someone can put a 60" flat screen and watch you guys with no problem. This is one of the reasons why me and my fiancee will be moving away from the city, perhaps New Jersey.

I'm sorry about the last comment of "SCREW THE POOR". I meant to say that the MTA wants to screw the poor . Sorry!

Raise the tolls on all crossings into the city, but lower the fares on the subways and all trains into the city. Less traffic (pollution) and more riders on the trains.
