Common Sports Bone Problems And Injuries Explained

It's Patient Safety Awareness Week and Orthopedic Expert Ira Kirschenbaum, MD stops by to discuss some of the most common bone problems. He'll discuss:

1. If Alex Rodriguez's hip injury can happen to any patient and if surgery can make it better.
2. Tiger Woods' knee injury and how it can possibly get fixed.
3. The population is staying more active as we get older. What are some general recommendations to prevent injuries and stay active?
4. The most common foot problems like bunions, corns, warts are they genetic and how can they be prevented.

Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum is currently the chairman, department of orthopaedic surgery, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, a major teaching affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is also an assistant clinical professor of Orthopaedics at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Kirschenbaum runs a program that delivers Orthopaedic care to one of the largest clinic populations in the country. He's also one of the co-founders of WebMd.
