Mary Stuart Masterson Lets Them Eat 'Cake'

Mary Stuart Masterson makes her feature film directorial debut in the new film The Cake Eaters.
Written and co-starring Jayce Bartok, the quirky drama is set in a small town and explores the lives of two interconnected families as the struggle to confront their harrowing past, cope with loss, and discover love in the process. The cast includes Twilight's Kristen Stewart, Aaron Stanford, Talia Balsam, and Oscar-nominated Melissa Leo (Frozen River).
Mary Stuart Masterson is the daughter of screenwriter, director and actor Peter Masterson and Tony-award winning actress Carlin Glynn. Raised in New York City, Masterson made her acting debut in 1975's The Stepford Wives opposite her father. Her other fillm credits include Fried Green Tomatoes and Immediate Family, for which she received a National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress. She has appeared on Broadway's "Alice in Wonderland" at the age of sixteen and went on to star in numerous plays such as "National Anthems" with Kevin Spacey and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."
The Cake Eaters hits theaters this Friday.
