A local woman bought a 30-day Metrocard from a MTA machine, but when it stopped working after just one week and all she got was the run-around from the MTA, she called Help Me Howard.

Metrocard vendors are thieves! I used a machine to refill my card yesterday and it just ate my money and gave me a non-working card. The teller told me I had to call for a refund, and then when I called and waited on hold for 30 min they told me I had to mail back the metrocard to get the refund. Also they told me there is a lag on refunds because they are backed up so they have no idea when it will be issued.
And the phone rep almost hung up on me without giving me the address for mailing it..Honestly I don't know if its worth it to mail it at all at this point.
