Hello Dr.Steve:I am a 34 year-old gentleman that had a surgery for perforated ulcer six years and 4 months ago,but I keep having problems related to that matter since then. The last time I was admitted in a hospital was last June for blood I was passing in my stool. The stool smells like tar and is very Sticky when that occurs. It always comes with an acute stomach pain that is very unbearable.Every time I go the hospital for complications like that, they only prescribe "Prilosec".My question is:do you think I should stay away from certain foods and fruits? I eat citrus fruits and rarely eat out.I don't eat spicy foods, but do eat rich foods that I prepare myself. Please answer my question because that really scares me.
Sincerely,
Francisco
