Times Square Celebrates NASCAR Week With A Tailgate Party

NASCAR Week continues with Jill Nicolini in the heart of it all -- Times Square. Jill will be wearing a NASCAR crew member's uniform from the Kellogg’s/CARQUEST team whose 2009 driver is Mark Martin. The team is part of Hendrick Motorsports and drive Chevrolet cars marked with the number 5. You can join Jill and participate in the activities this morning in front of the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.

Celebrating the end of the racing season, the folks at NASCAR are catering to the fans with a Tailgate Party. This outdoor “block party” features NASCAR drivers and celebrity appearances, as well as continuous programming and musical performances from the Ford Sound Stage! Food will be served up tailgate style while fans participate in Ford and Official Partner interactive experiences.

6:35: Jill will be live with Erin LeBar, NASCAR’s marketing manger for the East region. LeBar will talk about all the fan events, and also will walk around with Jill, and we’ll also have Jill play one of the games- “Tailgate Toss” at the Tailgate City driven by Ford.

7:35: Jill is live Chad Knaus, Jimmie Johnson's crew chief. This is the first time in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history that a crew chief has won three straight championships. He will talk to Jill about a pit stop, and some technical items of a NASCAR race car. This will be outside of the Hard Rock Cafe in front of Johnson’s car, which is part of the Aflac Pit Stop Tour.

8:35: Jill is live with Regan Smith of Cato, New York (near Syracuse) the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year.
