Shopping For The In-Laws On A Budget Just Got Easier

inlaws1217.jpg

They're arguably the most difficult people on your list to buy for this holiday season: the in-laws! The trick is to give them something unexpected and ultra personalized, and it doesn't have to be expensive!

We've got clever gift ideas for them and Riann Smith, deupty editor of TheNest.com was here to explain.

IN-LAW GIFT IDEAS AND VIDEO AFTER THE JUMP...

1. Magazine Subscription
Log onto www.magazines.com, where you can find hundreds of different titles for all different interests and personalities.

2. Charity Donation
Instead of the traditional material gift, make a $50 donation in your in-laws name to a local organization. Such as, if they're animal lovers, you can make a donation to Waggytail Rescue (www.waggytailrescue.org) a local dog rescue that specializes in small breeds. Are they foodies? Then you can make a donation to the Food Bank For New York City (www.foodbanknyc.org) to make sure that everyone has a hot meal this holiday season. And now's a great time to donate because the Robin Hood Foundation will triple your donation so you will actually be donating $150!

3. Personalized Stationery
Create stationery at www.PolkaDotDesign.com. The site has dozens of patterns to choose from, so you really can personalize it to their style and personality. Thirty notecards are priced at about $46.

4. "The Story of a Lifetime"
The beautiful book called The Story of a Lifetime from www.RedEnvelope.com is an in-depth memoir, meant to fill out. The book is an attempt to capture all of the special moments in their lifetime - and not only is it a great tool for self discovery and reflections, but it's also meant to be passed along to his family and for generations to come.

5. Netflix Subscription
Treat them to the excitement of the big screen right in their own home with a six-month subscription to Netflix that you package along with theater style treats. Go to www.netflix.com for more information.
