Saffron Burrows Stars As Terminally Ill Woman In 'The Guitar'

British model turned actress Saffron Burrows plays Melody Wilder in the new indie film The Guitar, which premieres on Friday, November 7 at the Sunshine Theatre in SoHo.
After the 7:15pm show, there will be a Q& A session with Burrows, director Amy Redford and screenwriter Amos Poe. Redford stopped by the CW11 studio on Wednesday to talk about the film.
Based on a true story, according to the official site, "One morning Mel (Burrows), a mousy, harried New Yorker with a thankless job and an even-less-appealing boyfriend Rosco (Isaach De Bankole) learns that the tumor in her throat is cancerous; the diagnosis is terminal, so it seems that both her job and her relationship are kaput. Rather than lying down and dying then and there, she embarks on an endless spree, the kind of self-indulgent wish fulfillment that we have all fantasized about." The Guitar also stars Paz de la Huerta.
Burrows is also starring as Norah Skinner in the new NBC TV series My Own Worst Enemy, which airs Mondays at 10pm. She co-stars alongside opposite Christian Slater.
