FeedingNYC Operation Needs You To Help Those Less Fortunate

According to Feeding America, 99% of food banks surveyed experienced an increase in the number of low-income American's turning to soup kitchens and food pantries for assistance this year.
The CW11's Linda Church be giving you the weather from the FeedingNYC Operation at Chelsea Piers' Pier 60 (23rd Street and the Hudson River) while she helps the organization load up boxes for distribution. She'll also speak to Robert LoCascio, CEO of LivePerson.com.

Fun Facts About FeedingNYC
- During its maiden year in 2001, turkey dinners were supplied to 40 families
- During 2007, the organization fed 1,500 families, encompassing more than 6,000 individuals
- This year, 2,008 families are expected to be fed (approximately 10,000 individuals)
- A group of high school students from Brooklyn private school Adelphi Academy will be joining FeedingNYC this year with packing and making deliveries
