nycomedy1103b.jpg

The CW11's Emily Frances sat down with the founder of the famed comedy club.

Emily also has a special connection for Caroline's. She's on their committee board and helped organize the first-ever Spirituality For Kids “Stand Up For Kids Comedy Show" starring Susie Essman, to be held on Monday November 3, during New York’s Comedy Festival, at Caroline’s on Broadway from 6pm – 9pm. For ticket information, call Abigail Amsel at (646) 839-3236 or visit nycomedyfestival.com.

The goal of this event is to attract over $200,000 in contributions from corporate sponsorships, ticket sales and other donations for SFK programs throughout New York City. This inaugural event promises to be a great success thanks to our list of prominent supporters and friends such as Donna Karan, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Madonna.

Spirituality for Kids provides unique educational programs for underprivileged children and families in at-risk communities. The goal of SFK is to end the suffering and hopelessness in the lives of children around the world by giving them grounded, practical tools to combat the chaos of social disintegration and the lure of violence. Using a fun and interactive curriculum, SFK teaches children powerful tools for approaching life's challenges; through focusing on the universal spiritual principles of sharing, caring, proactive behavior and tolerance.

Spirituality for Kids will have reached over 25,000 children in the United States, Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East. In New York, we are currently teaching during curriculum time at The Village Academies, PS 307, PS 183, the teenagers in the New York City Dept. of Probation, the teenage inmates at Island Academy on Rikers Island, and many other public and charter high schools across the city.
