Bernadette Peters Talks About Book (And Event) 'Broadway Barks'

peters1106.jpg

Bernadette Peters and two of her furry friends stopped by the studio to talk about her new book Broadway Barks, which is available in stores now.

The book is about a lonely New York City dog. "He remembers when he used to get taken for walks, fed dinner every night, and told he was a good dog. Now, he's all alone and must fend for himself. But everything changes one day when he sees a lady reading in the park and decides to follow her — all the way to a place where he might become a star," according to Amazon.com. The picture book is recommended for children ages 3 to 7.

Broadway Barks is also an annual pet "adopt-a-thon" hosted in the Theater District and was co-founded by Peters and fellow dog lover Mary Tyler Moore.

You can meet Peters at a book signing this Saturday, November 8 at 1pm at FAO Schwartz (767 5th Ave at 58th Street). She will read her children’s book Broadway Barks and hold a Q&A session.

And if you can't make it to that event, Peters will be at the Bingo For BARC Animal Shelter event held at My Two Dogs (434 Manhattan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn) on Friday, November 7 at 7pm. For more information, visit www.mytwodogsinc.com or call (718) 963-0400. For more on the BARC Animal Shelter, visit www.barcshelter.org

Hello,
I saw this segment on WB11 and I am interested in the Westie sitting at Ms. Peters feet. He looks familiar, is the dog's name Muchie? I am asking because I use to walk a westie that looked exactly like him named, Muchie (I was his dog walker) and I always loved him. If so I am very interested in adopting him!!! I am very familiar with him and I took care of him for over 2 years and I would love to adopt him. Please contact me ASAP.

Thank you for your time,
Annette Conty
