Actress Alison Pill Stars In New Film 'Milk'

Actress Alison Pill plays campaign manager Anne Kronenberg in the new movie Milk, which opens in theaters on Wednesday, November 26 -- one day before Pill's 23rd birthday and one day before Harvey Milk's assasination.
The film is about the last eight years of San Francisco County Board Supervisor Harvey Milk, who was the first openly gay politican. He and San Francisco Mayor George Moscone were assasinated on November 27, 1978. Pill's co-stars include Emile Hirsch, Sean Penn and James Franco.
There is also a high school in New York City named after Harvey Milk in the East Village dedicated to being a safe learning environment to LGBT young persons.
Pill, a Toronto native, has also been in Dan in Real Life, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Her stage work includes The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Mauritius and Reasons to be Pretty.
