New Sports DVDs Trace Star Athletes' HS Career
Football fans, two great DVD's are hitting store shelves: Manning vs. Manning and Hellfighters. Grab your helmet and be prepared to see twice the action from inside the quarterback pocket in Manning vs. Manning. Its an unprecedented look into the renowned football family.
Out of the 305 public high schools in New York City, 43 of them had football teams in 2003 —but none of were in Harlem. That is until Doug Ferguson, a former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, organized the Harlem Hellfighters, a gritty, relentless team that found itself a long way from Friday night lights. ESPN Home Entertainment, in conjunction with Genius Products, captures the story in Hellfighters.
A true story, Hellfighters is a film about the heroic trials and triumphs that a group of young men in Harlem face while fighting their way to success. Wise to the fact that football would provide a constructive after school activity, as well as valuable lessons in pride and character, NFL star and former Dallas Cowboy Doug Ferguson took the challenge of showing a group of tough, ambitious, but discouraged teenagers, that dreams do come true. Exposing the benefit of activism, the film is emotionally overwhelming—a universal story of positivity and resolve.
Both DVDs are available in stores now and can also be found at www.espnshop.com. They retail for about $19.95.
