VIDEO AND PRODUCT INFO AFTER THE JUMP...
Secret Flawless Deodorant, $4.99
With typical deodorants, the scent wears off slowly during the day. Secret Flawless uses the scent technology of Febreze. It absorbs odor molecules as they form and continually replaces them with a tiny burst of fragrance. It also has strong protection, skin conditioners and goes on clear.
No Frizz by Living Proof, $24.00
Frizz is women's number one hair complaint, so this new product line is big news. No Frizz was developed by an MIT engineer who found a formula that plugs the gaps in the hair cuticle like spackle, preventing moisture from penetrating (which causes frizz). No Frizz coats and soaks into each hair strand, making it repel moisture more effectively, even after shampooing and between applications. It also doesn't make your hair greasy like many hair tamers. The one thing to note is you have to use a lot of the product, really douse your hair in it-but it will not weigh hair down.
Vivete Vibrance Therapy by Allergan, $119.00
Until now, women who wanted to eliminate dark spots on their skin had to visit their doctor. Prescription strength hydroquinone was considered to be the most effective lightener available. Some doctors were concerned by a study that showed it caused cancer in rodents. Despite that fact, many derms believe hydroquinone is safe, but many have been looking for a natural based lightener that offers similar, if not better, results. In studies, Vivete showed reduced pigmentation an average of 70 percent, compared to 63 percent for hydroquinone. This is big news and many dermatologists feel that Vivete rivals hydroquinone.
Clairol Nice N' Easy Perfect 10, $13.99
Most permanent hair color destroys protein within the hair shaft and strips away the protective layer, which weakens hair and can leave it looking dull and damaged. This new fomula from Clairol actual protects hair-and as a fringe benefit, it processes in 10 minutes instead of 20. It also smells fruity and less like chemicals. Just note that you have to apply the color quickly or it won't hold as well.
SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF Serum, $150.00
This blend of vitamin C, ferulic acid and a new star ingredient, Phloretin, may help reduce the risk of skin cancer. Early research shows that it not only prevents future damage to the skin but may also reverse cellular trauma. The serum protects the skin by transforming free radicals into compounds and stimulating skin's defense against damage. The big difference with this product is that studies show that it penetrates the skin and interrupt several chain reactions that lead to wrinkles and skin cancer. It also helps defend against brown spots, lines and the start of some skin cancers.
L'Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss, $9.99
The problem with lip gloss is that you have to reapply it every 10 minutes, and most long lasting lip glosses require two steps and two products. This gloss has a long lasting polymer that is shiny that is flexible, long lasting and holds in place without becoming dry. Infallible is great because it comes in a variety of shades and we tried it-it really does last for hours and it also has a wand that is bent at the end which allows more precision than glosses usually do.
Tria Laser Hair Remover, $995.00
Laser hair removal is the #1 non-surgical cosmetic treatment for women under 34 (source: American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) so this is a big deal. The Tria is the first at-home, FDA approved laser hair remover. It emits a short pulse of light and then beeps when it's time to move it. You can use it on your legs, underarms, and bikini area. Being a laser, there is some slight discomfort, a little redness and warmth. However, this is a fantastic option for women to use as a touch up between doctor visits. The engineers who created the diode hair removal laser that doctors use in-office created the Tria.
