NJ Governor Jon Corzine: We Are One Community

On September 11, New Jersey lost 700 of its residents. Governor Jon Corzine, however, doesn't like to make New Jersey victims distinct from the rest of the victims.
"We're very interconnected as a community with New York," said Governor Corzine, "So, yes, there were 700 New Jerseyians, but we look at it as one community lost a tremendous number of people that we loved and worked with and colleagues. [...] All of us still remember one person at a time and we rememeber what it took out of our communities."
Corzine noted that it was only eight years before the 9/11 attacks, in 1993 that the World Trade Center was first attacked my terrorists. Ports and cargo containers need to more secure.
"We need to stay vigilant [...] even if there is not a specific threat at a given moment of time because it is when we back away that we create openings for those that would harm the public," said Governor Corzine.
