Yankee Great Mariano Rivera Has Quite A Proposal For Those Looking To Propose
All-Star Closer, Mariano Rivera announces “The Final Engagement,” a chance to win the exclusive opportunity to “close the deal” via a live in-stadium marriage proposal on the Diamond Vision Screen during a game played on September 18th, a 1.5 carat Hearts On Fire diamond engagement ring valued up to $40,000, and 4 Yankees tickets. The Final Engagement proceeds will benefit the Mariano Rivera Foundation.

One lucky Yankees fan will be chosen as the first and last person in the stadium’s history to propose live via the Diamond Vision Screen during a game played on the final weekend at the “House that Ruth Built”. For every registrant, Michael C. Fina and Hearts On Fire will donate $1 to the Mariano Rivera Foundation, a nonprofit organization that benefits under-privileged children. The final essay winner will be selected by a team of judges and chosen based on their passion for the Yankees, creativity, and overall appeal, during the first week of September 2008. The contest will run until August 31st and the proposal will take place at Yankee Stadium on September 18th.

Dear,Mariano Rivera
Hi, My name is Peter Miceli and i am from Shirley New York.i am a hard working young man , 20 yrs old who doesnt want anything more in this world then to get married to the woman i love the most, my girlfriend maria also 20 yrs of age. Mariano i have been her so called "crush" since she was in elementary school, i was even in her diary lol.We have been together now for a yr. and a half and before that i did not kno what kind of person she was but know i do. Maria is the most amazing ,good hearted ,thoughtful, honest girl i have ever met in my entire life and meetin her was actually the best thing that could possibly have happend to me. There is always a smile on her face and she is always in a great mood , anybody who comes around her at any given time comes to life with joy and happiness and can make a croud of people fall in love with one another.She loves me with all her heart, wants to have a family some day.im also so very proud of her because she is going to school to be a Home Health Aide.mariano if i had one wish it would completely be to propose to this beautiful hearted girl at a New York Yankee game because i am yours and their number one fan you can gaurentee that for sure.If only i just had money to buy or win a ring like that to match the love her heart and her personality .
