Flowers are in full bloom in the Bronx at the New York Botanical Garden. From delicate cherry blossoms to cheerful daisies, the garden is bursting with color. Its a great place for a nice walk or a picnic. And on Wednesdays you can see all of the beauty and glory of this institute for free. Admission is also free on Saturdays from 10am to 12pm. New York Botanical Garden is one of the greatest gardens in the world and the largest in U.S. Go and explore it at no cost.

In celebration of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s (AAADT’s) 50th Anniversary and its mission of making dance accessible to everyone, Ailey will present a special series of free performances and dance classes throughout New York City in all five boroughs from August 5-12.
The centerpiece will be an all-day Street Party on Saturday, August 9th in the heart of Manhattan, a special collaboration between AAADT and New York City Center on West 55th Street. Additional free performances featuring Ailey II and dance classes open to everyone will take place in Staten Island, Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

Dance classes take place prior to each performance. ALL ages, ALL levels welcome.

Free Bike Fridays on Governors Island
Bikes now available for rent on Governors Island every weekend Governors Island is home to New York City's first sustained bike share program. Every Friday through October 4th, Governors Island visitors can rent adult and children's bikes at no charge. On Fridays, adult and children's bikes are free. On Saturdays and Sundays, adult and children's bikes can be rented for five dollars for 30 minutes. Bike and Roll™ will also rent four-person bike surreys, children's bike trailers, wagons and other bike accessories.
Bike and Roll™ will be providing free basic beach cruiser bicycles and children's bicycles on Friday. Free bikes on Fridays are limited to one hour at a time. Requirements for renting bikes at all times: Visitors must bring photo ID or a credit card. Helmets are required for children under 14 but are available for all visitors. If you are under 18, riders must have an adult sign a waiver.
