Elisabeth Shue Talks About 'Hamlet 2'

Elisabeth Shue plays herself in the new movie Hamlet 2, opening August 22. Her co-stars include Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, Amy Poehler and David Arquette.
The movie is about Dana Marschz (Coogan), a struggling actor who becomes a high school drama teacher in Arizona. However, like his acting career, his teaching skills leaves much to be desired. With the drama program in danger of being cut from the school budget, Dana decides that the only way to save the program (and his career) is to put on the biggest, wildest high school musical this town has ever seen. Dana recruites Elisabeth Shue, who he meets at local a fertility clinic, to help him put on his production 'Hamlet 2.'
Hamlet 2 is written by Andy Fleming and Pam Brady, who has worked with the creators of South Park as a writer.

A native of Delaware, Shue made her mark in the Back to the Future movies. She finally won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1995 for her role as Sera in Leaving Las Vegas. Her character Sera veered away from her wholesome, girl next door image as Sera was a prostitute. You can catch Shue in her next project, Waking Madison, which is in post-production.

This year the Academy has upped the number of Best Picture nominees from five to ten. But has adding more films meant your favorite made the cut?
