Abigail Breslin on Being 'Kit Kittredge'

Abigail Breslin plays the title character of the new movie Kit Kittridge: An American Girl, opening Wednesday, July 3. Abigail's co-star Madison Davenport also stopped by the CW11 studio to talk about the upcoming movie.
Set in Ohio, the movie follows Kit, an apiring young reporter, and her friends who try to solve a mystery while facing hardships of the Great Depression. Although there have already been three other American Girl movies, Kit Kittredge is the first American Girl movie to be released on the big screen.

Abigail's career is picking up a lot of speed. The 12-year-old native New Yorker has played opposite several Hollywood A-Listers like Mel Gibson (Signs), Catherine Zeta-Jones (No Reservations), Jodie Foster (Nim's Island), Steve Carell (Little Miss Sunshine) and Kate Hudson (Raising Helen). At such a young age, she has already known in the film industry for her professional attitude.
Her brother, Spencer Breslin, is also an actor. They duo played brother and sister in Raising Helen. You can catch Spencer in his forthcoming film Harold (2008) opposite Cuba Gooding Jr., and Abigail in her next project My Sister's Keeper (2009) opposite Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin.
