Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh" Star Josh Peck Wants You To Call Him "Commodore"

Josh Peck, of Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh fame, is the lead actor of the new movie The Wackness, which debuts on July 3.

The Wackness is set in the not-so-distant past of 1994 New York. It's the era of yesteryear when "the newly-inaugurated mayor, Rudolph Guiliani, is only beginning to implement his anti-fun initiatives against 'crimes' like noisy portable radio, graffiti and public drunkeness. [...] A time of pagers, not cell phones; a time when Tupac and Biggie were alive but Kurt Cobain just died."

Peck plays Luke, a teenage pot dealer who trades marijuana for therapy sessions with Dr. Squires (Sir Ben Kingsley). Both develop a friendship based on their wish to develop and maintain their relationships with the respective object of their desire...and "based on a mutual need: getting laid."

Peck has described himself as a "Jewish kid that grew up in New York City just trying to hustle and make it in life." And that's just what this Hell's Kitchen native has done to the 9's. Peck performed in children's musical theater when he was nine years old and was inspired to go into stand-up comedy when he was eight years old.

In 1999, Peck was offered a role on Nickelodeon's The Amanda Show and, at his mother's suggestion, accepted the part and moved to San Francisco to further pursue an acting career.

Things have pretty much been moving up since then, movies, TV, more movies and from the amount of personality he displayed this morning with CW11's Emily Frances, Josh may be one of those actors who's about to become gigantic in the biz.
