Few items of clothing are more loathed than bridesmaid dresses. While the bride surveys her vision in sea foam green, her friends sigh, "I will never wear this again!"
In honor of bridesmaids everywhere, a group of talented design students at the Fashion Institute of Technology are competing to give new life to old dresses - and win a cash prize in the process.
Bridal Guide magazine and designer Alfred Angelo challenged the FIT students to redesign existing dresses relegated to the backs of closets.
Three finalists were chosen, based on their sketches, to turn the unloved gowns into hot little numbers for a "night out on the town."

From June 5-13, America will vote for their favorite dress redesign at www.bridalguide.com/vote. The designer with the most votes will win $1,500. The winner will be announced on June 18.
