Is it okay to date people your work with?
There are no federal or state laws that prohibit employee dating, but there are also no laws which prevent companies from creating policies that prohibit employee dating. So, first and foremost, what is the company policy on inter-office relationships? If it’s okay to get involved, think logically and take the time to learn as much as you can about your co-worker before taking the plunge. Do your personalities match? Is it merely an attraction or something more? Is this a job or a career? Would you want to jeopardize a career? It’s time to weigh the results of your actions considering both sides of the situation.
Is it better out in the open or should you keep it hidden? Personal relationships in work can create a very awkward situation, particularly if you are involved in daily business transactions with your romantic counterpart. My suggestion would be to keep it hidden. A company environment is a place for work. Keep it professional. Rest assured, the gossip will spread soon enough.

In honor of bridesmaids everywhere, a group of talented design students at the Fashion Institute of Technology are competing to give new life to old dresses - and win a cash prize in the process.
Bridal Guide magazine and designer Alfred Angelo challenged the FIT students to redesign existing dresses relegated to the backs of closets.
Three finalists were chosen, based on their sketches, to turn the unloved gowns into hot little numbers for a "night out on the town."

The USTA will host an open casting call at Radio City Music Hall today, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for children to sing the national anthem live at Arthur Ashe Stadium during this year’s US Open.

The auditions, which are free of charge, are open to boys and girls age 12 and younger as of August 25, 2008. Children will be asked to sing “America the Beautiful” a capella in front of a panel of celebrity judges from the music and entertainment industry including Constantine Maroulis, a Boston Conservatory graduate, Top 10 contestant on Season 4 of American Idol and most recently, a star on the Broadway version of the “Wedding Singer.” Maroulis will be joined by Laura Bell Bundy, current star of the Broadway hit, Legally Blonde and MTV VJ and former Miss USA, Susie Castillo.

Brittany Snow plays a Las Vegas prostitute in Finding Amanda. Taylor Peters, played by Matthew Broderick, is Amanda's TV producer uncle who is hellbent on getting her into rehab. Madison Davenport is co-starring alongside Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Nim's Island) as Ruthie Smithens in the upcoming movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, in theaters Wednesday, July 2.

Set in Ohio, the movie follows an apiring young reporter and her friends who try to solve a mystery while facing hardships of the Great Depression. Although there have already been three other American Girl movies, Kit Kittredge is the first American Girl movie to be released on the big screen.

Though she is only 11-years-old, Madison's career has already taken off. Not only has she appeared in films like Humboldt County and Monster In The Attic, Madison also lent her voice in the blockbusters films Horton Hears A Who and Over The Hedge. Be on the look out for Madison in Jack And The Beanstalk and Parasomnia, both due out later this year.

Fans can catch Madison at The American Girl Place in New York tomorrow afternoon from 1pm to 3pm.

Iron chef Michael Symon is owner and executive chef of the popular Lola and Lolita restaurants in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. He is known for his Midwestern-styled American cuisine and his signature dish -- “slash and burn” grouper.

Symon did not always want to be a chef. His affinity for cooking was discovered when he started working at a local restaurant after he broke his arm during a high school wrestling match.

It’ll be a busy year for Symon. Symon is scheduled to host the new season of the Food Network’s Dinner: Impossible in September 2008. A pilot of the show, with Symon at the helm, is scheduled to air in July 2008. His third restaurant, Roast, located in Detroit, Michigan is set to open its doors in fall 2008 as well.

Masi Oka stopped by to talk about his latest role in the highly anticipated movie Get Smart, which is in theaters now.

Oka is one of the stars of the popular sci-fi show Heros. He plays Hiro Nakamura, a computer programmer who can bend the rules of the space-time continuum, allowing him to teleport, time travel and and manipulate the speed of time. Production has already begun for the show's third season, which is slated to premiere in September 2008.

The Japan-born New Yorker has also appeared in other TV shows like Robot Chicken, Reno 911!, Scrubs and the movie Balls of Fury.

Not only does Oka have a penchant for acting, he first started in the film industry as a digital effects artist for George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic. He has worked on special effects major blockbuster films such as Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest, War of The Worlds, and the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

The DVD Get Smart: Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control, starring Oka, hits store shelves on Tuesday.

Model Cindy Margolis is on the cover of the July 2008 edition of Playboy magazine. This is Margolis' second pictoral for the publication, with her first in December 2006. In the 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records named Margolis "The Most Downloaded Woman"

But, with all of her popularity, Margolis lamented that she has been single for the past six months and has not been on a date during this time. Tennessee native Mitch Rouse is one of the four stars on Factory, Spike TV's first original comedy series. The improv series follows the lives of four beer-drinking friends who work in a local factory and, according to Spike TV, "When not figuring out new ways to avoid doing their jobs, the guys are usually trying to appease their wives and girlfriends, without great success. When a work-related accident creates a job opening, the guys have to decide who should get the promotion, which unfortunately might require actual work."

Rouse is the Factory's co-creator and this is not the first time he has helped put together a show. Notably, along with Second City friends Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello, and Stephen Colbert, he is co-creator of the 1999 Comedy Central television series Strangers with Candy. Recently, Rouse also wrote and directed the 2004 film Employee of the Month, starring Matt Dillon and Christina Applegate.

Rouse has also appeared on According to Jim as Dr. Ryan Gibson, and Reno 911!

Bobby Cannavale stopped by the studio this morning to talk about his role in the new movie Diminished Capacity, which premieres on July 4.

The comedy gets its name from the two star characters Cooper (Matthew Broderick), a Chicago journalist who suffers from memory loss, and his Uncle Rollie (Alan Alda), who suffers from Alzheimer's. A group of locals, including Cannavale's character Lee Vivyan, get wind of Cooper and Uncle Rollie's mission to sell a rare baseball card, and try to bamboozle them out of their potential fortune.

In 2005, Cannavale's role as Vince D'Angelo on the sitcom Will & Grace won him a primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also appeared on Cold Case, Lipstick Jungle and Law & Order.

Diminished Capacity is an adaptation of Sherwood Kiraly's book of the same name.

We’ve all heard the miracle stories: The Boy Scout who survived for four days in the mountains of North Carolina. The Montana couple who fought off a bear. The documentary follows eight of the 24 players in the first annual Elite 24 Hoops Classic -- an exhibition game showcasing the skills of the nation's top 24 high school basketball players.

The game was held in the legendary Rucker Park in Harlem on September 1, 2006. Players like Wilt Chamberlain ,Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Stephon Marbury and Allen Iverson have graced this playground with their presence.

Olivia Thirlby is the female lead in the movie The Wackness, which open s on July 3. She plays opposite co-star Josh Peck, who stopped by the CW11 studio on Thursday and left Thirlby a special video message.

This native New Yorker made her film debut in United 93 (2006) and her TV debut on NBC's Kidnapped. But moviegoers will remember her as Leah in Juno (2007), where she played Juno's (Ellen Page) best friend Leah.

Actor Will Smith talked to the CW11's Emily Frances about his upcoming modern-day superhero movie Hancock, opening July 3.

Hancock is certainly not the classic superhero. Rather than being a knight in shining armor for the people of Los Angeles, he's a sardonic, bungling plain-clothes nuisance whose good-intention heroics leaves destruction -- and a huge financial toll -- in his wake.

Hancock is not concerned about his public image until he saves the life of PR exec Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman). Their chance meeting makes Hancock realize that he needs to be the people's champion. But has the damage already been done for people to accept Hancock's change of heart?

Will Smith got his big break in 1990 as the star of the TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In recent years, Smith has played the lead actor in a string of blockbuster hits including Hitch, The Pursuit of Happyness and I Am Legend. Be sure to catch him in his upcoming films Seven Pounds (December 2008) and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2009).
