Pillsbury Beat:
It was a sweeter morning commute for New Yorkers this morning, thanks to the Pillsbury Doughboy. The Doughboy will declare Park Avenue and 51st the Sweetest Spot in New York City and offer morning commuters a free slice of a giant cake in the shape of the United States to kick-off the Campaign for a Sweeter America.
Americans can vote for their favorite dessert – Cake, Brownies, Frosting or Quick Bread -- in the primary elections now through July 26 at rallies in nine swing cities across the country including, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Charlotte and Columbus, or online at www.pillsburybaking.com/campaign.
The primary election results will be announced in August and then two nominees will contend for a Sweeter America victory in the online general elections from September 7 through October 12. America’s favorite dessert will be announced on October 20.
Pillsbury will also donate more than 1,500 sweets to the New York Food Bank for delivery to community food programs throughout New York’s five boroughs.
