The government is issuing new rules to protect kids from exposure to lead-based paint during repairs and renovations.
Starting in 2010, construction workers will have to post warning signs in affected work areas to prevent occupants from entering. Contractors will also have to prevent dust and debris from spreading and provide a thorough clean-up. The program will cover rental and non-rental housing where children under six and pregnant women are living.

And, you may want to cut back on eating sausage or bacon every day. New research shows eating one sausage or three pieces of bacon a day can increase the risk of bowel cancer by as much as 20%. The warning applies to all processed meat, which are preserved by smoking, curing, salting or adding preservatives. That includes hot dogs.
