1. FACT OR QUACK: Put Lavender oil on sheets for a better night's sleep

This one is FACT - with a caveat. Lavender oil is commonly known to help people relax. Reduce stress and improve anxiety. It's often used as aromatherapy. Having said that it will not help you sleep better. But it does really smell nice and can help relax you as you're getting ready for bed. So if you're trying to relax and are looking for a calming routine before bed, then a little lavender in the sheets won't kill you.

2. FACT OR QUACK: Drink a glass of water and baking soda to stop belching

This is QUACK. Belching comes from two causes, either swallowing too much air especially when you eat fast or gas forms in the stomach from the foods that you eat. Baking soda doesn't help this problem. In fact, it may make it worse. If you've got gas and you're belching you're better off buying simethicone from the drug store. It's available over the counter and it really works.

3. FACT OR QUACK: Cure a canker sore with a raw onion

I have to call this one QUACK. Although many people tout the healing power of onions because it's thought to be an antiseptic when used topically. There's no medical research to show it heals canker sores. You're better off using a variety of over the counter canker sore remedies from the drug store. They work only modestly to reduce the pain. But there are prescription medicines that can really help.

There are so many so called remedies for canker sores which actually agitate canker sores. There arm many over the counter treatments.

If left alone, canker sores will go away by themselves, however they can make life very unpleasant during it's duration.

Thank you for the post.
