Dangers Of Passive Smoke & How Much Exercise Do YOU Need?

You've heard about the dangers of second hand smoke. Most people think it affects their lungs.

But a new study presented at the American Heart Association conference finds passive smoking may affect an infant heart as well. The study involved 128 children and found that toddlers in the homes of smokers had six times more nicotine in their systems than older children and also had higher levels of markers for heart disease in their bloodstream. This is the first study that looks at the response of a young child's cardiovascular system to second-hand smoke

Yesterday we told you about new guidelines for exercise being passed through congress.

So how much do you need to exercise? A new study finds that exercising as little as 10 to 30 minutes a day can improve the quality of life for older overweight women. Women who exercised were happier had better social skills, and some lost weight. But the benefits included everyone even those who didn't lose weight. So even a little exercise is better than none at all.

This post is brilliant!

I've been a vegetarian for a year now and the less I eat meat the less I crave it. I love conceptualizing food on a level that encompasses life and doesn't involve death slaughter.
