Girls On The Train

subgirls.jpg Jessica Wu, Laura Lee Anderson & Marissa Lupp (from l to r above) joined us today to talk a little about their subway dancing video, which has catapulted the girls (Isis Masoud the 4th girl wasn't here because she is working in Miami right now) to web stardom.

After their appearance on the show, we sat down with the girls for a moment and asked a couple of hard questions...

CW11 BLOG: How long ago did you girls do this?
Laura Lee Anderson: All the way back to last March, we can't believe it's even gotten so much attention. We all pretty much forgot about it.

More below...

CW11 BLOG: So, how is it that it's just now coming out?
Laura Lee Anderson: Well, that's funny because the Daily News called my parents and started asking them about it a couple days ago. They were kinda surprised.

Marissa Lupp: Yeah, my parents knew, in fact they even voted for us. They loved it.
CW11 BLOG: I have to ask, but when you did it, were you worried about kids on the train or getting arrested or any of the other hundred things that could have gone wrong?
Jessica Wu: Well, there was a family on the platform whose son danced with us, they actually follow3ed through a couple cars on the train, but we did it at 11 at night, so there weren't really any other kids around.
CW11 BLOG: What about cops?
Laura Lee Anderson: Well, we kinda just did it and didn't think about the cops, I mean, there's so much other really bad stuff going on between the homeless people, and crazy people and all the shady people, we figured we wouldn't create too much of a commotion.

CW11 BLOG: And of course, we know you did it as a way of entering a Darejunkie.com contest to win $10,000, but is that the only reason?
Jessica Wu: Well, the money was one reason, but we figured we'd have some fun, I mean, we did this all on a goof, we are all dancers... NOT strippers, real dancers, theater and all, and we thought this would be fun.
CW11 BLOG: What did you do with the money?
Marissa Lupp: Well, it's not that much money when you minus the taxes and split it 4 ways, so... but we paid our school loans and stuff, but we really didn't so it for the money.
CW11 BLOG: Do you think this will lead to anything bigger?

Jessica Wu
Jessica Wu: That would be great, but I don't think any of us is really thinking like that, but we'd be open to look at anything of course.
CW11 BLOG: Well, good luck and I hope you can convert this into some real opportunities for yourselves.
GIRLS: Thanks!!
