Fit For Life Segment Info:
A new study says people over 60 who exercise will live longer than their peers regardless of their weight.

Researchers from the university of South Carolina say overweight people who exercise have a lower risk of death than their out-of-shape counterpart even if they happen to be thin.

And more research suggests that antibiotics may NOT help fight sinus infections. A recent British study showed people with sinus infections improved within two weeks, even if they didn't take a standard antibiotic or nose spray. Amoxicillin is the most commonly prescribed antibiotic for sinus infections. But researchers say doctors may need to reconsider treatments.

A new study claims to have answered the question... Why does the flu spread mostly during the winter?

The findings suggests the virus stays airborne longer when the air is cold and dry. New York researchers conducted the study in guinea pigs. They found the spread of the flu was more prevalent in the colder environments.

And, poor refrigeration may spoil a flu vaccine. Researchers say some 20-million dollars have already been wasted on vaccinations for children. They say the vaccinations didn't work because of poor maintenance. Some kids were forced to get it more than once because it never worked the first time.

An environmental group in Michigan finds lead in hundreds of toys. Some of them include a "Hannah Montana" card game case, a "Go Diego, Go" Back-Pack, and "Circo" brand shoes. The group says most of the contaminated toys are still on the market.
