Info for Autism Awareness Day

As I previewed on our Saturday newscast, Autism Awareness Day at the Mets game is all set for next Saturday, May 9th. The Mets play the Pirates in a day game. This is our seventh annual AA Day with the Mets, and the first at Citi Field.. It’s turned into a wonderful annual event for the autism community, and if you’re interested in coming to the game and helping the cause, we’d love to have you!

Here are a couple of website where you can get information:

AutismAwarenessDay.Kintera.Org

Bababooey.com (that’s because Gary Dell’Abate from the Howard Stern Show is our honorary host)

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in comments, and I’ll get back to you…

Hey, Mr. Watkins. I enjoy watching you and Ms. Tong on the News each night, you guys are great!! It is great to see that attention is being drawn back to different organizations that go to bat to help make us more aware of the difficult challenges some of us face each day. I am married to a great lady who has Epilepsy, and my oldest daughter has ADD, so it is always appreciated knowing there are people out there trying to make a difference! People say New Yorkers are a tough breed, but, as history will show, (9/11, for example) we all come together when we need each other! Thanks for bringing attention to these different groups! All the best! John

Hi Jim,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Lauren Suske and I heard you speak at Kean. Thank you for inspiring alot of people. I want to reach out to you about an awful incident that happened to me on an airline trying to go home from Orland in April. I recently started a petition in hopes that there will be mandatory training for all airline employees. My twins, seven year olds, boy and girl have autism. The name of the petition is Right to flight for All Abilities. Please contact me if you want anymore information. It is time for a change and make more people aware. Thank you for being a great advocate for your son!

Lauren Suske
