10 Reasons Flyover Seemed Like A Good Idea
People across the nation are still shaking their heads over the unfathomable decision someone made to photograph a presidential 747 on a low flight over the Statue of Liberty. It was as close to a 9/11 replay as you would ever dread, and city officials, including the mayor, were never told it was going to happen. Every person in the world, it seems, knew that this was a horrible idea--- except for the guy who ordered it. What was he thinking? Here are some possibilities...
1) What could possibly go wrong?
2) Backup Air Force One had been feeling neglected.
3) Awesome views of Jersey City.
4) “Hello” Flickr Picture of the Week!
5) Circle Line boat tour was sold out.
6) Yes we can!
7) Betcha it took your mind off swine flu for a few minutes.
8) Photoshop is for sissies.
9) Thought Mayor Bloomberg would appreciate one less thing on his mind.
10) Sully flew low over the Hudson, and nobody had a problem then.

This just shows the insensitivity to the people of NY. Would they fly over D.C.
On the subject of the flu - on one side of your 'media' mouth you say 'do not panic' and the other side you go on about deaths are sure to happen from this flu. I think the media is responsible for the panic.
Seriously, it cost around $35,000 when photoshop would have probably produced a better result. Yet these are the guys who are going to fix the economy?
I think it was Chris Glorioso piloting the plane. I could see his manicured eye brows in one of the pictures.

It was a great opportunity for Home Land Security to test their New York Harbor Security Plan. Inform the Harbor of a security breach, raise the MARSEC Level, except nothing happened. Why is that?

Atleast let the public know in advance so we don't go crazy and call 911 who already knew but no one card enough for us to know. What difference does it make if Obama spends $382,000 of your tax dollars for his campaign mailers to his political donors? Obama's budget is $3.4 trillion and the deficit is $11.2 trillion going to $16 trillion.
I can only think of one real good reason -
The one in Pentagon who approved this is a real idiot, among with other idiots in DC.
