Illegally Parked MRI Trailer is Still In Operation!
Ok, Ok. We had high hopes on this one. After all, how hard is it to live up to your word, right?
Well, apparently it's too hard for Fitore Realty to live up to their promise, especially one they made to a New York City Councilman!
Things did not go according to plan this weekend. The weekend NYC Councilman James Vacca promised Help Me Howard and Bronx neighbors, that the illegally parked trailer, housing an MRI machine, would disappear.
According to Vacca, he had received, in writing, a promise from the planning consultant, who works for Fitore Realty, that the trailer would be gone on August 14th.
But today, August 16th, Howard paid a visit to area residents on Mace Avenue and the trailer was still there, humming away.
As one of the residents cried, "I can't believe this is going on! I'm really upset!........and nothing is happening yet!"
They feel as if their city has abandoned them. They pay taxes, they follow the law, yet an area landlord can do whatever he wants and the city drags its feet getting around to dealing with it.
Councilman Vacca also paid a visit to the area today, noticibly angry at the results, as he told Howard:
"I think they obviously did not tell the truth, because its way past August 14th and we're still standing here! Why put something in writing you have no intent to do?
Howard is also frustrated and promised them, he would stay on the case. Interestingly, calls made to Fitore's Planning office today were not returned.
The property where the trailer sits belongs to Fitore Realty, a company owned by Paul Gjokaj. But no one seems to know, or else they're not taking, no one knows "who" owns the actual MRI business; "Eastern Precision Medical" There are no medical certificates hanging in their facility, no one answers our questions when we call them. Just countless people passing thru on a daily basis, getting MRI's done for so-called Workman's Compensation cases.
Who are these guys and why are they getting around the system? Howard is going to find out.

I hate to suggest the obvious but what about the basic rule "FOLLOW THE MONEY".

Evaluation Program (POLEP)The federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) require that all entities performing laboratory procedures register with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and meet quality control, quality assurance, testing personnel, record keeping and other technical requirements. Every entity that tests or examines specimens for the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of any disease or impairment, or for the assessment of the health of a human being is considered a clinical laboratory. The federal law applies to any clinical laboratory even if only a few basic tests are performed and even if the entity does not charge for its services.
In order to qualify as a physician office laboratory (POL), the practice must be operated by individual health care providers or be part of a legally constituted, independently owned and managed partnership or group practice. Laboratories that are owned, managed and/or operated by managed care organizations, hospitals or consulting firms do not qualify for the POL exception and should apply for a clinical laboratory permit through the Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program.

Reply to the inappropriately named "Patriot American": In the U.S., Mr. Mendte is allowed the freedom of speech to comment on what-ever he wishes. He skewers both the Repubs & Dems. You would be better served to go to his blog and coherently write your objections to what he has said rather than to resort to name-calling and idle threats. it's called starting a dialogue.

I commented on this after your first encounter with the behemoth trailer and I'll tell you again what I told you then - especially after all agree that this trailer is illegally parked - HAVE IT TOWED!
Any trailer or vehicle that is illegally parked can be legally towed. You don't even have to notify the owners. There should be a sign up in the parking lot stating that illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense. This trailer qualifies, so all you have to do is call a towing company that specializes in towing oversize vehicles and have it removed to their lot. It will begin accruing charges from the time it is towed and so the owners will not only lose money from their inability to conduct business but will have to pay towing and storage charges as well.
'Nuff said.
I say have it towed ! Then when they have to get it out of impound, they will respond.

Thank you Howard!!Hi Howard,just finished watching the MRI clinic thing in the Bronx, actually I think this was an update, I know it looks fishy like u said @ the end & it fact it is. This clinic does perform mri's on patients that 95% are related to an auto accident & 100% of the time these auto accidents are orchestrated to scam the insurance companies. This scam grows every year, these mri's & bogus & botched.
