Missing Mom Jamaica Smith Found Dead
What Happened To Jamaica Smith?
Last week Help Me Howard reported on the case of missing mom, Jamaica Smith, who disappeared the day before Thanksgiving, after dropping her daughter off at school.
Sadly, Jamaica's family today was told that her body had been found in Uniondale, Long Island.
This past weekend police arrested two people for using Jamaica's credit card. Her sister, Lola says police told her the two people in question bought gas and an alcoholic beverage at an undisclosed location. The two also had Jamaica's photo ID and had signed her name.
For now the focal point of Jamaica's disappearance appears to be the house she was renovating on 235th Street in Queens.
Howard spoke with a person from the community, who asked that their identity remain a mystery.
They claimed there was drug activity going on in that house and that members of the community knew that and were remaining quiet about what happened to Jamaica.
Another source told Howard that something strange happened to Jamaica Smith the Tuesday before her disappearance. She was walking past a local Dunkin Donuts on her way home, when a maroon Chevy Tahoe suddenly pulled up onto the sidewalk and blocked her path.
At that very same moment some of her family members came around the corner, saw Jamaica and began calling out to her. The person or persons in the truck then left the scene.
Today Howard also spoke with one of Jamaica's brothers, Charlie Vereen, but nothing that he said seemed to make any sense and the family was still holding out hope that Jamaica would be found safe.
But sadly tonight the Vereen family is instead grieving the loss of their sister and trying to get some answers on what happened. We'll have more on this story as it develops.

This is so sad, she didn't deserve to be killed like this! Who ever did this is going to hell. My heart goes out to her daughter that will now grow up without a mother, may she rest in peace!

THIS IS SUCH A SAD THING TO HAPPEN, POOR CHILD THIS IS GOING TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON HER HOLIDAYS FOREVER, HAVING TO CONSTANTLY REMEMBER THIS TRAGIC ORDEAL. This is so sad Howard I live right in the same neighborhood Jamaica was living in. And I see her family members all the time. I feel very bad for them and my condolescences go out to her family. I am kind of afraid now more then ever in this neighborhood.

Madrice, you have stated that the killer should die and burn in hell. However, a trial havn't begun as yet he has not been proven guilty and you are already sending him to hell. I can't help but to think you were there with the killer, that could only be the reason that you have convicted him already. Are you happy that they cought him and not you? If non of this is so, the he is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Please learn your rights in this coutry or you may be on trial next..............

I am Jamaica Smith's, Father's sister( her aunt) the police did an excellent job with this case. They are not stupid, lazy, or just looking for some innocent person to pin this on. Yes the spineless person that killed Jamaica will get a fair trail.After which I hope he will spend the rest of his life thinking about what he did. Not just to Jamaica, or, our family, nooo, one day his DAUGHTER,will have to be told where her dad is. And, WHY,he is there.This child will have to grow up without her mother, and because of his actions , without her dad.If you don't feel for any of us,if you don't feel for the way Jamaica's life was taken,feel for that motherless child growing up,.... not without love!!!.... but without her mother, and her gutless,spineless,sperm donor,poor exscuse of a male... father
I am the brother of Jamaica Smith, I miss my sister dearly. Words can't discribe the emptyness that im feeling, knowing I will never see my sister again. I think about Jamaica everyday constantly. Today is Christmas Day, Jamaica will normally send every member of the family a text message wishing us a Merry Christmas and ending with I love you. (I'm waiting for my text Jamaica).

It's a shame a young, intelligent, beautiful black woman has disappeared then ultimately died and no one wants to come forward and say anything. Someone knows something, someone had to see something. No one just vanishes into thin air.
I take this personally because I'm sick and tired of women falling prey to evil, demented, brutes walking around posing as human beings.
No one has a right to take a life and apparently someone couldn't do a human thing and be rational and senselessly took a beautiful human being life.
Even if the legal system doesn't deal with this, GOD will, he's everywhere, he sees everything, all the time.

I lived "downstairs" in "that" house. I must say call them whatever you want The Vereen/Smith family are good people. I've had my disagreements with them that really were not about them. I can say that these people are good people with GREAT hearts. Jamaica or Aunty "Maica" like we all called her was a GOOD person, a REAL person. Her daughter Jaylin was her life and anyone that knew her would be able to tell you that. There were no "drugs" involved, so that's just rubbish. Jaylin, her daughter was her WHOLE life, she ate sleep, woke up and breathed for her little girl. From the minute the story broke i knew something was TERRIBLY wrong bc she would never, EVER, leave her little girl. I'm crying as i'm writing this because I'm saddened. My daughter used to go upstairs and play all the time, these are good people.SMH. I feel especially saddened for Jaylin, I have no words. I want you guys to pray for her little girl, she has to grow without a mother and father. Jaylin's father has to be left to god, he is a scum and he will have his day with his maker. The only thing I want to know is WHY, Why ???? WHY? Monique , Jamika everyone my condolences. Aunty " Maika's" one year anniversary is coming up and she's gone in body but not in our hearts. Gone but Never FORGOTTEN!!!
