It's Feel Good Friday ... Midtown Manhattan!
11:44AM | October 1, 2009 | comments: 4

What would you do if Channel 11 gave you $1,000 in cash?
Every Friday now is "Feel Good Friday," as Help Me Howard is giving away $1,000 to one very lucky person.
But there's a catch!
Tune into the PIX News At Ten every Friday night to find out what it is.
And be sure to go to our blog every Thursday night to find out what part of the tri-state area Howard's going to be giving away cash next.
This October 2nd, the "Feel Good Friday" location will be Midtown Manhattan, in the vicinity of 42nd Street.

Hi Howard,
My husband and I have been watching your show for many years. we admire all the things you do to help people. But lately you started a segment(feel good Friday)that we thing is inappropriate and a wast of money. Going around giving people cash that they do not even want. It is not charity. There is a better way to help those who are very in need.
please stop this segment.

I was hoping you would get to NYC, however, I wasn't there on that particular day. Anyway, what's the chance of Help Me Howard running into me, of all people, probably NILL.
I guess I thought, at first, if you gave some one a thousand dollars, they would keep it for themselves. I was wrong. I don't people would give away their own money in these times, so I guess what you do has somewhat of a purpose. I think Howard, that it is inappropriate for people to just give away money, especially, if the person you gave it to really needs it. Those hundred dollar bills just don't cut it.
Maybe a hundred dollars can buy a homeless person a lot of booze, but really, I think the person who wrote above me is correct.
Maybe you could think up another useful segment, a game, or a treasure hunt. Does that sound corny?
No offense meant....
Lee
I think what you are doing is to be commended. Being unemployed and not a woman of means, I can't tell you how many times I have prayed and wished for a stroke of luck or something that would provide me with some much needed cash to pay a bill or take care of another expense.
Even if the person you give it to doesn't really need it, it may inspire them to help someone else who really does need it and by this, what you are doing has not been done in vain.
Bravo Howard! Keep on doin' what you do!!
