Even with a college education, we all know it is difficult to find a job. If you take a job that is beneath you, you will find a job. There is work out there, if you want to accept a lower paying job. For the temporary time this lasts, anyone's best bet is to take ANY JOB. The nursing profession is in dire need.
Years ago, you only needed to go to "nursing school", which I believe only required 2 years of education. Today, you need more education. I do believe this is a great field, if you have the stomach for it.
Howard,
Even teachers with tenure are being laid off. Yes, they may be needed, however it is not a situation that they are "kept" on, because, the school districts, do not want to give tenure after a 3 year period. Today some great teachers are fired. It is not a womb to tomb job anymore.
They just keep hiring every year, and lay off when tenure is due. This is a crappy situation.
All my kids, including the in-laws are either teachers or doctors. The doctor profession is always in need, and it takes a great amount of energy and schooling. Rarely if ever, is a doctor "laid off". Tough profession, while nursing is easier, and being a PA *physician's assistant is very hard work, but the pay is good.
You have to be a strong seeker, to get a good job, but they can be found, if you have the will and the means of education, unless of course you are a plumber, electrician, and the like. THEY are always in demand.
