Yale Gurney, a professional photographer, husband and now father, was at New York's Presbyterian Hospital on April second for the birth of his daughter.

Around 10:15 PM that night, Yale went down to the hospital's parking garage, loaded down with baby gifts from his family and friends. While signing the parking bill, he remembers he had to put everything down. It wasn't until he had gotten into the car fifteen minutes later that he realized he had left his computer and his father's cash gift of $1,500.00 at the parking garage.

Yale called the parking garage as he rushed back. But when he got there the parking garage said they didn't have his items, even as he checked the entire booth. Yale even went up to his wife's hospital room to check and see if he'd left the items there, but no luck. At this point there was nothing left to do but report the missing items to hospital security.

A few days later Yale received a call from hospital security saying they had found his computer. They said the two people who had taken the computer and money actually worked for the parking garage. One of them had come forward, stating that the other one had stolen the items and given them to him. He spent the night in jail after admitting to stealing $400.00, but not $1,500.00.

When Yale got his computer back he found that the thief had erased all of his baby pictures and replaced them with pictures of himself and his family.

That's when the parking garage manager told Yale there would be no problem in getting the additional $1,00.00 back and that he would be working on it. But then the parking garage manager changed his mind, now telling Yale, he would only get the additional money if he could provide a receipt for his father's cash gift.

Even threats to call the media didn't change the garage manager's stance, so Yale called Help Me Howard. First Howard called the the parking garage manager and then he called the hospital. One day later Yale received a phone call from the hospital stating that a check for $1,000.00 was waiting for him.

Hi Howard,
I am no computer expert but I think it might be possible for Mr. Gurney to get his baby photos back. I think there are softwares out there that can help restore deleted files from your hard drive because files are never really deleted even after a computer been restored. The only way to wipe out a hard drive clean is use a special software which the thief might not have done. So I think Mr. Gurney should look into that.

Kin:

I have tried software's but have not produced those specific images. If anybody has any absolute knowledge on how to retrieve photos from a mac, please post on here.

Perhaps: System reastore, then a system search once the restore completes.
Sorry this happened to you and your family.

Restore proceedure: Cursor to "Start", click on it> cursor then to "All Programs"> then cursor onto "Accessories"> then cursor down to "System Tools"> then cursor and clck onto "System Restore".
On the "System Restore" screen, you will see three selection restoration choices. The choice, "Restore my computer to an earlier time" should be selected. Once it is, click onto the next screen button, where you'll see previous times and dates to select.
Should this be of no use, perhaps the photos were stored in the transfer point (being the camera, or memeory card of the (seperate)photo transfer unit that had transfered the photos onto your computer.
