What would you do if Channel 11 gave you $1000 in cash?

Every Friday now is "Feel Good Friday," as Help Me Howard is giving away $1000 to one very lucky person.

But there's a catch!

Tune into the PIX News At Ten every Friday night to find out what it is.

And be sure to go to our blog every Thursday night to find out what part of the tri-state area Howard's going to be giving away cash next.

This May 22nd, the "Feel Good Friday" location will be Queens.... in the vicinity of the Queens Center Mall.

hello Howard

I wanted to write a small suggestion.. about your good luck Friday.. It's a great thing that you do. I love it and the best thing someone can do, but what happen to the little people that resides in the Bronx.. we need some of that good luck Friday money as well, letting us know we are important just like everyone else.. we are struggling mothers and fathers that have it hard. prices going up but not our pay. then and the government don't want to give up our income taxes, it's hard going day by day with coming up with little things we need for our kids and home. That money would no will come in handy for us. let us know we are important too.

How are you Howard. Always good to know that people like you can make a different in someone life. I hope it can be me. I am a single mother with three daughters that I am very proud of. The student loans that I had to take out for their college have been a hardship for me, still trying to meet the payment every month for my daughter college. The 1,000 in cash can really help.
Thankyou for caring about the people.

Dear Help Me Howard,
You know that what your doing is a wonderful thing and it is an unselfish act of kindness... and as I read all this comments... I think that people now days are selfish and only think about themselves. Why I say that? I wonder if you were to approach me with the money what would I do with it? yes it would be nice to keep but I would not having a problem giving it to a total stranger either, because destiny says who needs it more than me because I know that if I give, I get more in the long run!!! Don't get me wrong, I live in a basement room with my two sons and it is overcrowded and unhealth for my sons but I have faith God has a apartment coming my way soon. However, I want to say that I work at the movie theatre on 71st and Queens Blvd., and on my way to work I always see people who are in more need than me. Like the homeless in the train if they only had a sandwich or water or a place to be safe and take a bath or a rebuild program to help them back on their feet...I have a dream of a "Million Dollars" program that I wanted to start that would help the homeless by asking everyone to donate a $ 1.00 to really help give back but I don't have the resource to start something like that. However, it is and always will be my dream for no more homeless. Keep up the good work!! you'll be remembered in heaven, for your good deeds. Write me back if you get a chance and let me know what you think of my idea? RSVP, ASAP.. Thanks

Why people keep writing here to say they needed the $1000 because of such and such?
Not that you don't need the money, but you won't get it just because you state your situation here, need to follow the rule.
On the other hand, the ones who got the money is happy, but I don't think this feel good Friday move is an effective way to help people.
Besides, giving away $1000 each week, if it is how much a person can earn each week, that person's salary would be 52k. I wonder how long can this give away last. And when it won't last long, I really suggest to put it in a more effective way to use.

Why is that the NYC Child Support services does not penalize dead beat Mothers knowing that great fathers are paying child Support and willing to take care of their child, the agency knows that 90% of the money given does not use for the kid(s), it goes towards mother's personal expenses, victoria secret and etc.. why is that the NYC does not care. The average Father wants to take care of their kids and mothers are using Child Support for revenge. Not one politician has the moral to speak towards that, it's a shame.

Dear Howard: If you should come to Greenport on a Friday and give me the $1000, I would give it all to Linda Ortiz who runs the Afterschool programs here.
Too many people cannot afford the fee for the Village's Summer Camp and there is not enough money to subsidize everyone who needs help. These afterschool programs are so important to working families; the Summer programs even more so.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours sincerely, Maggi Travis

I have been laid off since last august and I am receiving unemployment. I do need the $1,000 for my bills.

It would be great to see you in the grand army street park or grand army library in Brooklyn, NY.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Howard,
My name is Saabirah, I follow the news daily, what
you do is a blessing, and may you be blessed for it. I need your help, In 1980 I attended briefly
Sawyers Business sch. and to make a long story short, i became chronically ill. I had to drop out. I had just begun i did'nt attend a month even. I took out a $2200 loan, today it's almost $7000 in interest. The School no longer exist., they never forwarded the check back to the bank.
They kept it, i never graduated of course, i could'nt attend do to chronic illness. I of course signed without "knowledge" of the fine line., small print., the contract. So I'm soley
responsible for this debt. I just continue to try and have the loan forgiven, with no response.
I feel it's an in-just to me, on the schools part.

Help Me Howard. I am being taken for 2,400 dollars by Ali Liaqat of Nicks construction 1301 East 233rd Street # 3474312108. I'm sure he has taken other Bronx residents for thier hard working money. I have tried to contact him but he says I'll be there and never shows up. I went to the business and it's a private home, work is being done to the home and it's up for sale, yesterday i found out he has another address. We need to put a stop to this company that is taking Bronx residents for thier hard working money. My real prblem now is that I have a garage without a frame or door, i forgot to mention i had to pay another 500 dollars to pack up the rubbish and remove it because the Department of Health issued me a notice or get fine so as you can see i would need to save the money again or do you know of someone that will take payment plan :( So every one beware of this company and pass the word g
