House Sale Goes Bankrupt: An Update
A woman who thought she was hiring a realtor to sell her house, unknowingly files for bankruptcy instead.
We first told you about Yvette Gonzalez back on March 5th. She was facing foreclosure and last year her realtor suggested she file for bankruptcy to buy some time, so he drew up the documents, which is really what a lawyer is supposed to do, so when Yvette showed up in court, the court trustee was not happy.
A federal magistrate ordered that Arthur Briscoe, a licensed realtor with Coldwell Banker Cross Island Realtors, pay Yvette $2,000.00 for misrepresentation. Briscoe was supposed to pay her the $2,000.00 fine by November 5th, 2008, but he would only pay her $800.00 and still owed $1,200.00.
That's when Help Me Howard got involved and paid a visit to Mr. Briscoe and we're happy to report that Yvette has finally received her $ 1,200.00
If you are trying to sell a house or are in foreclosure, protect yourself and talk to a lawyer first. Hire him or her to draw up your papers, not the realtor. The lawyer, who you are paying, will have your best interests in mind. A realtor is not a legal expert. If you need help finding a lawyer, contact your state's Bar Association or contact the American Bar Association.
Most of them have a lawyer referral service and can point you in the right direction.

That Broker from Coldwell Banker Cross Island is a conartist. He even robs his agents of their commission when they close a deal. All of them
The State should investigate Mr Arthur Briscoe the Broker at Coldwell Banker Cross Island Realtor. I am glad someone finally reported him. He is known for giving people bad checks as payment. The FBI should investigate him for fraud.
A Family Dollar store on 27th st and B'way in Bayonne, NJ is making its' employees work one hour overtime without pay and threatening termination if not complied with. 99% of the employees are women and these women unload the delivery trucks, cases upon cases of super heavy products i.e. clorex, 64oz tide, 64 oz juices, everything and anything the store sells, without any male help. Some of these women are in their 40's and afraid to speak up for fear of losing their jobs. They are intimidated and bullied. As a customer I found and find this to be appalling. The employees asked me, "I'm not going to be fired am I?" "Do you work for the corporation?" Please help these woman, Howard. Please. Thank you so much.
