Skyvision Travel: Booking More Trouble Than Trips

Manoj Kappor is having some trouble getting money back from a travel agency called Skyvision 'n' Travel. Manoj contacted us from California, to alert us about an unscrupulous travel agent operating our area.

Last September, Manoj was looking to go on vacation to India. He was comparing prices from different agencies, when came across an advertisement in an Indian community newspaper, India Post. Manoj called Skyvision 'n' Travel and spoke with a man name Sunny.

Sunny quickly e-mailed him the itinerary and then requested payment. Manoj wanted to pay by credit card but Sunny convinced him to pay with a check. If he decided to use a credit card he was going to have to pay more, so Manoj sent a check for $2,560.00 to Skyvision 'n' Travel in Jackson Heights, NY.

About a week after the check was cashed by Skyvision 'n' Travel, and Manoj had not received the tickets, he called Sunny. Sunny said he couldn't issue the tickets, didn't give him any reason and just hung up the phone.

All the while, Manoj still had to use his vacation time, so he ended up having to shell out additional money to buy new tickets to go to India.

After Manoj returned from India, he was able to track down Sunny and requested his money back. Sunny said he would send him a check. Sunny did send him a check but it was returned for Non-Sufficient Funds. Manoj immediately called back Sunny and told him that the check had been returned. Sunny responded, "Did you really think I was going to give you back your money?" and hung up the phone.

At this point, Manoj is still out the money and has tried to contact Sunny using several numbers that he has for Skyvision, but unfortunately the numbers don't work. We investigation the multiple addresses, but they are just Post Office Boxes. Sunny's trail has gone cold.

This situation has been even more frustrating because Manoj lives in California, so all of the action must be taken here in New York.

He has filed with these New York agencies: Department of Consumer Affairs, the State Consumer Board, the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office.

We also have a same trouble for our India tour what Manoj had. We are planning to go India to see our sick old daddy who is 76Year old. So we started calling different travel agent to check the price for our India tour for our family of four. And we find out skyvision travel inc. add. in one of Indian magazine name "Garvi Gujarat". So we called him and he tell us the price of ticket and he send us itenerry of our air line booking with "north west(KLM)" airline. We also ask him your price is cheper then other agent why is that? Then he told us he has lot more customer then other so he got great price from airline. After we check the itenerry we told him O.K. we want to buy ticket and we want to pay by credit card then he told us if you are using a credit card then you have to pay extra fees for using a credit card which is 50-60$ extra per ticket so he ask us to pay by check. Then he send us emial which was about where we have to mail check and the amout of check. After sending him check he we are asking him for send a ticket and he was telling us I am going to send you tomorrow. Every day he was saying same thing so finelley we call to North West airline to send us a ticket. Then we find out our ticket was booked by this agent but never been purched so we called agent again and tell him that we find out you didn't purchase our ticket. After hearing that from us he hang up phone. We call him again but after that he never answer our phone. But one day we call him from another phone so pick up phone but as soon as we started asking him about ticket he or money he hang up phone. So we have to cancel trip to India.
He took our $4160.00. And never issue ticket or didn't give our money back. His phone number and add. is same as I saw on add. which is posted by another person. So this person is doing that with severl people.He is using a different address and all the address is his mail box numbers and he has four different phone numbres.
I complained against him at severel diffrent dep. DCA(Depertmant of consumer affair, BBB of NY, Atterny journel office of NY, Queens county ny,local police dept.(gwinnet county where I live),State of georgia depertment of consumer. I hope some one will help us to get our money back.

I have also been cheated out of $3,350 by "Sunny (Bobby)Singh ." I had come across the Skyvision advertisement in the local magaizine 'Little India', and I called up Sunny and the price he quoted for a trip to India was just in my price range. He sent me an itinerary and asked me to send a check to him via Fedex. Instead of sending the check by Fedex, I sent it by UPS with return confirmation. After two days I called Sunny to ask if he got the check, he said no he hasn't yet. I called again two days later and he still hadn't got the check!! He said that he hasn't had time to go pick it up yet and that he will! That sounded odd, but i didn't make much of it. The ups sent check came back to me, so I called Sunny, he said "I told you to send the check by Fedex", So I re-sent the check by Fedex! I waited for the check to clear and called Sunny, He kept telling me that he will send the tickets! Up until four days before I was to leave for India, Sunny kept reassuring me that "We are professionals, we know what we are doing, and you will get your ticket before you leave." After that dialogue he stopped answering my calls!!

I have filed complaints at Watkinsville, GA police department, Department of consumer affairs, NYC., and Queens County police department.
