Beware of Fake Publisher's Clearing House Checks
5:52PM | January 6, 2009 | comments: 1

As Publisher's Clearing House gears up for their latest prize patrol, a new scam has emerged that involves fake winning checks being sent to customer's homes.
Help Me Howard got word from one Long Island resident, who received a check from what she thought was Publisher's Clearing House, but when they told her she had to pay the taxes on her winning check, she got suspicious.
We told her not to send them any money and Publisher's Clearing House agreed with us.
Publisher's Clearing House says they never ask for winners to pay anything on their winnings and if anyone asks you for money, they are not the real Publisher's Clearing House.

Glad to see a corporation like PCH getting out in front of these scams and trying to educate consumers. The people behind these scams should be arrested - they are lowlifes.
I know someone in my neighborhood who actually won $10,000 from the Prize Patrol. Like the guy, said, if you win they actually come to your house. Unfortunately, not mine yet!
