WPIX Anchor Tamsen Fadal emceed the event and City Council President Peter Brennan light the tree.
Before pulling the switch, Brennan thanked Jamie LeFrak for turning an abandoned railroad terminal into a vibrant community. As the switch was pulled, fake snow poured over the tree, eliciting gasps of surprise and delight from the crowd.
