Breaking News: One Tree Hill & Life Unexpected Will Be Back!

Expect the Unexpected.
Fans of One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected can breathe a huge sigh of relief. That's because CW honchos have renewed both fan favorites for next season. One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected were on the bubble to return, but the network has given the go ahead for orders of at least 12 episodes of each series.
The news was not so good for fans of Melrose Place. That show is officially kaput!
The network has also ordered at least two new series for the fall:
Hellcats, the college cheerleading drama from Smallville's Tom Welling (starring Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale) and Nikita, an updated take on the movie and TV series Le Femme Nikita and Point Of No Return, starring action film star Maggie Q.
A formal announcement and the rest of the CW fall schedule will be presented to advertisers on Thursday morning at Madison Square Garden.
Will One Tree Hill Be Renewed?
Last Monday's return of One Tree Hill gave The CW one of its strongest Monday night's of the season. Here is a preview of Learning To Fall, one of the last three episodes of the season (or series).
One Tree Hill airs Mondays at 8pm (as if you didn't know)!

One Tree Hill Return Helps Give The CW Its Best Monday Since January!
While many have already written the epitaph for One Tree Hill, there are signs of life in the old girl yet.

According to a network press release, last night's return brought The CW its best ratings with Women 18-34 and Women 18-49 since January 25th.
The powerhouse return also boosted Gossip Girl to its largest audience since December 7, 2009.
Might this mean a stay of execution for One Tree Hill? Well...that's a decent possibility. If I were a betting man, I would say that One Tree Hill will be back next season, perhaps with an order for 13 episodes.
Of course, the show needs to continue to deliver strong ratings in its final three outings of the season. But, if so, I can't imagine a scenario where the network does not renew One Tree Hill for another go 'round.
The CW will announce its fall schedule in a few weeks...May 20th, to be precise. We should know if One Tree Hill gets a reprieve by then! For those of you who are fans, keep the faith and keep tuning into One Tree Hill on Mondays at 8pm!
Sophia Bush Is Hedging Her Bets!
The decision to renew One Tree Hill for another season is in the hands of the powers that be at The CW. But, Sophia Bush is not waiting for the ax to fall before she has her next job lined up.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sophia Bush has joined the cast of ABC's comedy pilot Southern Discomfort (which also stars Don Johnson and Mary Steenburgen).
Fear not, One Tree Hill fans. Even if ABC picks up the pilot, Sophia Bush will still return to One Tree Hill if The CW renews it. Southern Discomfort is in second position for Bush, meaning that she is contractually obligated to return to One Tree Hill (first position) if OTH gets another season from the network. ABC would then recast Bush's role if that series goes into production.
The final word on One Tree Hill's fate and perhaps Sophia Bush's next job will come by May 20th. That's when The CW announces its new fall slate to Madison Avenue.
Coming Soon To One Tree Hill
They're being billed as the FINAL FOUR EPISODES of One Tree Hill and they roll out on Mondays at 8pm beginning on April 26th. Take a look at a promo reel for the return of One Tree Hill and also find out what's coming up in the episode titled Every Picture Tells A Story:
On the eve of Quinn’s big gallery opening, an uninvited guest ambushes Clay.
Nathan spends the day with Jamie.
Haley struggles with life after her mother’s death.
Brooke and Julian each receive a shocking surprise.
Skills learns the truth about Lauren and Mouth.
One Tree Hill's Michaela McManus Cast In CW's Nomads!

Michaela McManus who played Lindsey Strauss on One Tree Hill a couple of season's ago and more recently appeared as A.D.A. Kim Greylek on Law & Order: SVU has joined the cast of Nomads, a new pilot for The CW that may find its way onto the fall schedule, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reported today.
According to Ausiello, McManus will play "a brave and resourceful Army Brat determined to earn a place in the CIA. She finds herself fighting an attraction to her handler and a fellow agent-in-training."
The "fellow agent-in-training" will be played by Friday Night Lights' Scott Porter.
The CW will announce its 2010-2011 schedule on May 20th.

One Tree Hill Actor Going To Prison!

Antwon Tanner who played 'Skills' Taylor on One Tree Hill has been sentenced in Brooklyn Federal Court to 3 months in prison for dealing stolen Social Security numbers.
The actor, who has also appeared in such series as Boston Public and The District was ordered to report to jail by April 30th. After his 3-month prison term, Tanner will also spend an additional 5 months under house arrest.
Had Tanner not accepted a plea bargain, the actor could have spent up to 10 years in prison and been forced to cough up $250,000 in fines if found guilty in a jury trial.
Tanner, 34, pleaded guilty in August to identity theft after he attempted to sell 16 fake Social Security numbers and 3 stolen cards to an undercover agent for $10,000.
The actor called his crime an "embarassment to his family and fans" and his lawyer called it an act of "stupidity," resulting from financial woes brought on by the foreclosure on his million dollar California home.
The CW has not made any official comment as to Tanner's future on One Tree Hill.
