Another Heather Locklear Tease For Melrose Place!
In this newest of promos for Heather Locklear's November 17th return to Melrose Place we get a slightly longer glimpse of things to come.
Jessica Simpson Lashes Out!
Stop the presses! Jessica Simpson has called Melrose Place, 'crap!'

Earlier this week, Jessica came to the defense of little sis Ashlee who was recently dismissed from her short-term role as Violet on The CW's Melrose Place. In a short diatribe, the elder Simpson sister Twittered her dissatisfaction.
CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with, but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press...Watch til Jan.. :).
Can you say, "sour grapes?"
In fairness, she was defending her little sister, so kudos to her for that (anyone of us would probably do the same).
On the other hand, it is galling to be called out as 'crap' by someone who's crowning achievement as an actor came as Daisy Duke in the Dukes Of Hazzard remake. Or perhaps her starring role as Private Megan Valentine in Major Movie Star (a straight to DVD masterpiece which got a brief theatrical release in Bulgaria -- I kid you not) qualifies her to make such grand pronouncements.
Let's remind ourselves why Jessica Simpson is a leading authority on acting and quality scripts.

One Tree Hill:
A character on One Tree Hill will attempt suicide in an episode coming soon.

Dixon will welcome another older woman into his life, someone older than Sasha. This character has already appeared on the show.

Naomi tells a lies that has major ramifications!
Melrose Place:

Nick Zano (who's wrapping up a stint as Courteney Cox' young boyfriend on Cougar Town) is reportedly in the running to join Melrose Place as a new resident at the hospital where Lauren and Michael work.
Heather Locklear's storyline involves some sort of mystery involving Sydney -- so Laura Leighton "may be staying on in some form," according to Jessica Lucas who plays Riley on the show.

Colin Egglesfield Talks About His Melrose Place Eviction!
Colin Egglesfield was told to pack his bags and move out of Melrose Place yesterday.

In spite of Executive Producer Todd Slavkin's claim that his dismissal from the show wasn't a "complete shock," Egglesfield who plays Auggie Kirkpatrick on the nighttime soap was a little surprised and very disappointed at being let go.
Egglesfield who had a multi-year contract and was scheduled to recur in 10 of this season's first 13 episodes told E! Online that he got the bad news from Slavkin and Darren Swimmer, another Melrose producer.
"They were really saddened, and you could tell it was difficult for them to break this news to me. They said it was a network decision, and they said the network thought Auggie was a little too dark, with his alcoholism. They felt like in the landscape of Melrose they wanted to change the tone of the show. So that's the explanation that they gave me. They said that it wasn't anything against me or my talent or anything. There was never any discussion that they weren't sure what they were going to do with me or my character.
But Egglesfield (whose character is NOT being killed off -- "The way in which I'm leaving the show, I'm not being killed off, I'm just leaving. It keeps the door open for, potentially, my character to come back, but who knows?") was careful not to burn any bridges and offered praise to the execs that gave him the boot.
"Todd and Darren are great, I love those guys and they've always been straightforward and straight shooters and just great people to work with. I respect the decision that they had to make creatively to do what they need to do, I'm just frustrated that I'm not going to be a part of the show, because it was such a great job and a fun place to go to work every day," said Egglesfield.

Two Actors Out On Melrose Place!
Ashley Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield have been evicted from Melrose Place.

Melrose Place Executive Producer Todd Slavkin explained the reasons for the changes.
In Ashley's case "we felt that once the murder mystery was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift into a much more fun, romantic, sexy upbeat kind of show, and [her] character would move on...Colin was always meant to be the ultimate suspect. And his brooding alcoholic [character] tonally didn’t fit the paradigm moving into post-murder mystery Melrose Place," Slavkin told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello in an extensive interview.
"We always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Auggie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show, Slavkin said.
The two actors took the news in stride. "They’re total professionals and they took it like professionals. When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time, it wasn’t a complete shock, said Slavkin.
So what can we expect from Melrose Place going forward?

I can't believe I am writing about this. Yes, folks, this is what I've been reduced to. It is indeed a very slow news day...

90210's Trevor Donovan is apparently the hottest guy on TV -- or so says Life & Style Magazine (and would they lie?).
Donovan's Southern California surfer dude looks placed him at the top of the list in Life & Style Magazine's annual countdown.
"Coming into a cast that had worked together for a year was a little intimidating, but everyone's so nice. And Teddy's a really fun character," said the 31-year-old (yes, THIRTY ONE-YEAR-OLD) actor who plays golden boy Teddy Montgomery, the guy driving a wedge between Adrianna and Navid.

Also making the list, Daniel Henny of CBS' Three Rivers, Chris O' Donnell of CBS' NCIS: LA, Nick Zano of ABC's Cougar Town and Michael Rady who stars as Jonah Miller on the CW's very own Melrose Place.

Big Death On Melrose Place Coming!
Can't say who, can't say why, can't say when.

But I can say that someone big is going to die this season on Melrose Place (and I'm not not talking about Sydney -- who's already dead, but seen in flashbacks), E! Online has reported.
Apparently, this death is tied to a much bigger storyline and everyone is tight-lipped on the character that bites the dust and the circumstances surrounding his/her dispensation to the great beyond.
Who do you think it will be? Who do you want it to be?

The Bitch Is Back...For A While!
As you all know by now, Heather Locklear returns to Melrose Place on November 17th. Now I can tell you for how long.

If you don't like One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place, get used to seeing them on PIX.
In a display of confidence, The CW announced today that One Tree Hill has been picked up for an entire 22-episode season, while both Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place have received orders for additional scripts. The CW has committed to 9 additional scripts for The Vampire Diaries and 6 more scripts for Melrose Place!

The Bitch Is Back!! Heather Locklear Returns To Melrose Place! ** UPDATED **
She's signed, sealed and delivered. Heather Locklear will reprise her role as bitchy ad executive Amanda Woodward on The CW's Melrose Place beginning November 17th!

"We're ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to 'Melrose Place,'" said executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. "Heather's involvement in the show is something we've been working on for some time as we couldn't imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character's inclusion."
Amanda will return to town as Ella's boss at the PR firm. Ella, the new resident vixen in town (played by Katie Cassidy) will no doubt be schooled in the art of scheming by Locklear's Amanda!
It has not been announced how many episodes Locklear will appear in.
Locklear is the fifth original castmember to join The CW's Melrose update! She joins, Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini), Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews), Josie Bisset (Jane Mancini) and Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds) who have already signed on.
Heather Locklear joined the original Melrose Place as a "Special Guest Star" at the end of its first season and stayed with the show for the remainder of the series' seven-year run.

Bring on the catfights and the short skirts!!!
Thomas Calabro Dishes The Dirt On Melrose Place
Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini) made a housecall at WPIX the other day and dished the dirt on the new season of Melrose Place and growing up in Brooklyn.

PIX: You're the only original cast member that was on the entire run of Melrose. That's a pretty good distinction for you.
Thomas Calabro: Yeah, I think it's one of the most surprising ones because it was so much fun everyday, all day for seven years. I don't know why everybody didn't stick around the whole time.
PIX: Was it as fun as it appeared to those of us that were watching - like being on set?
TC: Yeah it did. Mostly 'cause there wasn't as much drama behind the camera (as) there was in front of it. Behind the camera we had a great time.
PIX: Speaking of drama, how much drama can we expect on the new Melrose Place?
TC: A lot. It's beautiful people with major problems again and there's gonna be a lot of stuff. They mix it up pretty good. They seem to be able to juggle a lot more problems than they used to in one episode, so that's good.
PIX: Is Dr. Mancini going to change now that he's kind of the elder statesman or is he going to be as bold as the young people.
TC: Well, I was the oldest character the first time around and I'm the oldest character on the show (and person) the second time around so that doesn't change. What has changed for Dr. Mancini is a lot more money. He's invented a 'heart valve thingybob' (the technical term escapes me at the moment). It's given him a lot of prestige, a lot of power and a lot of money so he can do everything he did before, and then some.
PIX: You also got a chance to direct. Do you have any aspirations to do it again now?
TC: We'll see how it goes moving forward. Certainly I always have my eye to that so we'll see how it goes.
PIX: I didn't realize, but you're a good ol' Brooklyn boy and you worked in your dad's diner on top of a subway.
TC: That's right. It was the LL stop in Williamburg - two stops from Manhattan.
PIX: What did you do?
TC: I did everything. I did everything he told me to do and he told me to do more and more as the years went by. I spent a lot of my childhood there.
PIX: And football.. Stuyvesant High School. You're like a New York success story. It's so great to have you back not only on Melrose but back here on our network.
TC: Thank you so much!
Melrose Place airs Tuesdays at 9pm after 90210 (just like the good 'ol days)!
Melrose Place Adds Rick Fox!

Melrose Place's Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Is No "Shrinking Violet!"
This fall on Melrose Place, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz portrays Violet Foster, a young woman fresh off the turnip truck - a hick from the sticks who lands at L.A.'s most scandalous address. But don't expect Ashlee's Violet to be of the "shrinking" variety. All is not what it seems. In fact, Simpson-Wentz reveals that Violet will have a dark side -- perhaps one that plays an integral part in the murder mystery storyline that kicks of the inaugural season of the eagerly anticipated new prime time
"She's a little off. She's got a dark side. She grew up with a foster family and never knew love and family, so people have just come in and out of her life. She just wants to be accepted and loved," Simpson-Wentz told the

Heather Locklear In Negotiations To Appear On Melrose Place!
Multiple media sources are reporting that

According to an inside source with the show, there is a strong chance that Amanda Woodward will make her way back to the show.
There are definitely talks going on," says the insider. "It's better-than-even money that she'll do it. Everyone's optimistic, absolutely. [Heather] saw the pilot and loved it. Hopefully [the producers will] figure out something great for her creatively."
Originally Locklear had passed on the project because she thought "there was [no] way to bring [Amanda] back that made sense," but producers left the door open in case she changed her mind.
No word yet on whether
Producers have also left the door open to Grant Show (Jake Hanson) who has expressed interest in appearing on the program (though perhaps not this season).
If Locklear signs on to do Melrose Place, she will be the 5th original castmember to make the jump. She would join Thomas Calabro, Laura Leighton, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga who have already committed to appearing on the series.
