The first wave of nominees for the annual Teen Choice Awards have been announced and The CW has copped quite a handful of kudos! Here are some highlights:

Gossip Girl leads with 6 nominations including Choice TV Show Drama, Actor/Actress in a Drama, and TV Villain! Gossip Girl tied Iron Man 2 for most nominations and edged out both The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Fox’ Glee, which received 5 nominations each!

According to the Los Angeles Times, Trevor Donovan, who plays tennis pro Teddy Montgomery on The CW's 90210 has been upped to series regular for next season -- and senior year at West Beverly promises to be filled with lots of intrigue. As teased in this blog a few months ago, 90210's Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) -- fresh from a bad break up with Navid, will dabble in a bit of same sex experimentation. A just released promotional still from an upcoming episode of the series shows Adrianna in a makeout session with openly gay student Gia (co-star Rumer Willis). How long will this experimentation last? I don't know, but here's the pic.

After a long hiatus, 90210 returns with all new episodes this Tuesday, March 9th at 8pm. Will you be watching?

Some cool casting choices are being made over at The CW.

David Anders (who is best known for his role as Sark on Alias and from more recent roles on both Heroes and 24) has joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries. Anders will play Jonathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy's uncle beginning on April 15th.

Maggie Q is in talks to star as Nikita in the CW pilot of the same name. Nikita is a new take on La Femme Nikita, the hit film and cable network series. Maggie Q is no stranger to the action genre having appeared in such adrenaline charged blockbusters as Mission Impossible III, Rush Hour II and Live Free Or Die Hard!

Sean Faris has been chosen to headline Amy Sherman Palladino's Wyoming-based soap pilot. Faris who has appeared on such TV shows as Reunion and Life As We Know It is best known to CW fans for his most recent role of Ben McKittrick on The Vampire Diaries.

Finally, congrats to Gillian Zinser who plays Ivy Sullivan on 90210. She has just been promoted to a series regular on the show!

The CW has given early pick-ups to five series, guaranteeing that they will be around next fall with all-new episodes.

The network cited strong ratings as the reason for the early renewals.

Still waiting word on whether they will be back for another season are such shows as
Smallville, Life Unexpected, One Tree Hill and Melrose Place, but there's still plenty of time so keep watching.

The CW will announce its fall schedule during upfront season in mid-May.

On the heels of Jennie Garth's departure from 90210, now comes word that Rob Estes will also be exiting the CW drama.

Yesterday, Estes issued a statement that said:

This is my final season on 90210 and I wish the show, cast and crew nothing but the best. I am looking forward to spending time with my kids and exploring other opportunities.

Estes plays Harry Wilson, principal of West Beverly High and the father of two main characters on the series, Annie (Shenae Grimes) and Dixon (Tristan Wilds).

The set up for his exit will be explained when the show returns with new episodes in March. "..if fans tune in, they'll understand why Rob's character is leaving," said a CW source.

What does this mean for Lori Loughlin who plays Harry's wife Debbie?

Is the show purging itself of some of its older main characters? Estes will be the third older actor to leave the show since season one (following the departures of Jessica Walter's Tabitha Wilson and Jennie Garth's Kelly Taylor).

When 90210 returns in March with new episodes, Kelly Taylor will be nowhere to be found. That's because Jennie Garth and 90210 have parted ways. "I’m not really doing it anymore… [haven't for] awhile," Garth told Access Hollywood on the Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet on Sunday.

According to her husband, actor Peter Facinelli (of Showtime's Nurse Jackie), Garth has decided to take a break from acting in order to spend time with her three children and may also use the time off to write.

That's what Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting today.

According to Ausiello, Ryan O'Neal has been tapped to play Teddy's dysfunctional superstar actor father in several episodes of 90210 beginning in April.

At least he's had some well-documented experiences to base his character on.

According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Gilmore Girls star Scott Patterson will join 90210 for at least two episodes in 2010.

Patterson, who is well-known to Gilmore fans as diner owner Luke Danes and recently appeared in the short-lived CW comedy Aliens In America as patriarch Gary Tolchuk has been tapped to play Jack, an ex-con who opens up a bait and tackle shop in L.A and who also happens to be Liam's biological father.

Melrose Place

Four original castmembers of Melrose Place will appear together in episode 16 (tentatively scheduled to air in early March 2010). Apparently, Heather Locklear's Amanda will be joined by Josie Bisset's Jane Mancini, Thomas Calabro's Michael Mancini and Daphne Zuniga's Jo Reynolds when the four get together to attend an event at their old apartment complex.

Smallville:

Chloe will get a love interest later this season in the name of Steven Swift (AKA Warrior Angel).
Steven Swift will be played by Carlo Marks who appeared as Chloe's fiancé in the "It's A Wonderful Life" themed Smallville episode titled Apocalypse in 2008.

90210

Naomi finally learns the truth about Liam and Jen in episode 11 airing on December 1st.
Someone attempts suicide.

Anna goes back in time to kill Mary & John Winchester and prevent Sam from being born.

Actress Kelly Lynch (Drugstore Cowboy, The 'L' Word) will be joining the cast of 90210 as a love interest for West Beverly teacher Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold). Unbeknownst to him, she's also the mother of one of his students. Uh oh!

According to TV Guide, Lynch will play Laurel, "a fortysomething, pot-smokin' hottie," with a colorful past. In a late October post, Spoilerfix outed the character as Laurel Sullivan, Ivy's mom.

Remember a few weeks ago when 90210 introduced Rumer Willis as Gia, a student at West Beverly who also happens to be gay? Well...she's returning in a big way! In January, Gia will romance Adrianna (played by Jessica Lowndes) as the show kicks off a same-sex story arc, reports Entertainment Weekly.

“This isn’t a fling,” says executive producer Rebecca Sinclair. “We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.’ This is a real aspect of teenager life that’s interesting… And there’s been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters.”

Uhhh...works for me!

A character on One Tree Hill will attempt suicide in an episode coming soon.

Gossip Girl:

Bart Bass returns to Gossip Girl in December. Is he back from the dead? According to E! Online, that might very well be the case. On the other hand, Entertainment Weekly says Bart is not alive nor is he appearing in flashback. So, what gives? Keep watching to find out!

90210:

Dixon will welcome another older woman into his life, someone older than Sasha. This character has already appeared on the show.

After Ryan's impending break up with Jen, he'll find a new woman to date. Imagine his surprise when he learns that he is bedding the mother of one of his students!!

Naomi tells a lies that has major ramifications!

Melrose Place:

The murder mystery wraps in episode 12 (scheduled to air December 8th).

Nick Zano (who's wrapping up a stint as Courteney Cox' young boyfriend on Cougar Town) is reportedly in the running to join Melrose Place as a new resident at the hospital where Lauren and Michael work.

Heather Locklear's storyline involves some sort of mystery involving Sydney -- so Laura Leighton "may be staying on in some form," according to Jessica Lucas who plays Riley on the show.

America's Next Top Model:

Tyra Banks chooses America's Next Top Model in the Cycle 13 finale scheduled to air on November 18th.

Eddie Murphy will be in the audience for the final runway show on the season finale of Top Model!

The Vampire Diaries:

A series regular of the female persuasion will bite the dust.

Supernatural:

Thursday's night of death continues as two supporting cast members of Supernatural die in an episode titled "Abandon All Hope" (tentatively scheduled to air November 19th).

Also in this episode, the brothers battle it out with Lucifer.

Sam & Dean switch bodies in episode 12 (which will air in late December or early January).

Smallville:

Phil Morris will return to the show as a Martian Manhunter in a 2-part episode titled "Society," scheduled to air early in the new year. The episode was written by D.C. Comics writer Geoff Johns (best known for his work on The Flash and The Green Lantern). This Justice Society themed episode introduces such characters as Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl.

Clark and Chloe's friendship will be rebuilt.

After Monday night's episode of Gossip Girl, Chair (Chuck & Blair) fans may be wondering if those two crazy kids are headed for splitsville.

Well, according to the CW sources scoped out by E! Online, Chair will not be breaking up anytime soon. "They are far from over. I don't see them breaking up this season at all," said the source. In other news from the Upper East Side, rumors abound that Serena & Nate (SeNate ?!) may once again become a couple.

Meanwhile 3,000 miles west on 90210, TV Guide reports that this spring, three (count-em, three) couples will be getting back together over a span of 3 episodes. Apparently not in the plans of the reconcilees (is that even a word?) are Teddy Montgomery and Kelly Taylor.

90210's Trevor Donovan is apparently the hottest guy on TV -- or so says Life & Style Magazine (and would they lie?).

Donovan's Southern California surfer dude looks placed him at the top of the list in Life & Style Magazine's annual countdown.

"Coming into a cast that had worked together for a year was a little intimidating, but everyone's so nice. And Teddy's a really fun character," said the 31-year-old (yes, THIRTY ONE-YEAR-OLD) actor who plays golden boy Teddy Montgomery, the guy driving a wedge between Adrianna and Navid.

Also making the list, Daniel Henny of CBS' Three Rivers, Chris O' Donnell of CBS' NCIS: LA, Nick Zano of ABC's Cougar Town and Michael Rady who stars as Jonah Miller on the CW's very own Melrose Place.

The jig's almost up for Naomi's uber-lying, big sister Jen (Sara Foster) on 90210!

Since letting Annie take the fall for sleeping with Liam, Jen has sat back while Naomi has transformed Annie's life into a living hell.

But the sisterly love will come crashing to an end very soon and Naomi will refocus her wrath and revenge on big sis when she is confronted with the truth and Jen's lies are finally exposed.

Let the hair-pulling begin!

“We’re about to shoot the deterioration of Jen’s façade of being such a wonderful big sister. Then they’ll finally be an opportunity for Liam and Naomi to get back together," AnnaLynne McCord recently told TV Guide.

"You might also see Naomi’s conscience come out. And I’m so excited about finally getting to work with Shenae again now that Naomi will stop hating her,” said McCord.

Jen's scheme unravels sometime around 90210's 10th episode of the season and the fireworks soon follow. Episode 10 is tentatively scheduled for November 17th. I guess Thanksgiving at the Clark home is going to be "interesting."

Interesting news from the set of 90210. The show has cast Zachary Ray Sherman as Jasper Herman, the nephew of the guy that Annie hit with her car in May's cliffhanger season finale. What is this guy after? So far, we know that he will befriend Annie and worm his way into her life and inner circle, but what is his agenda...and is it sinister?

"I have a bad feeling in my gut, and I think he's going to take Annie for a little bit of a spin," Shenae Grimes revealed to E! TV. "She thinks she finds love and that may screw her up a little more," she said.

"My gut instinct is that he may [know about her role in the car accident], but Annie hasn't told anybody. It's definitely a secret right now," Grimes added.

The CW has confirmed that Rumer Willis (offspring of Demi and Bruce and stepdaughter of Ashton) has been tapped to appear this fall in an undisclosed number of episodes of 90210. Rumer will play punky and opinionated Gia, a reporter for The Blaze (West Beverly's school paper turned news show). Oh yeah...and Gia is a lesbian. Did I mention that? Gia will interact with Silver, Navid and Adrianna who also work at The Blaze.

90210 has cast Abercrombie & Fitch model and actor Trevor Donovan to appear as a semi-regular this fall. He will replace Dustin Milligan (Ethan) as the new eye candy for the ladies. According to Entertainment Weekly, Donovan will play Teddy, West Beverly's own version of JFK Jr. - gorgeous, smart, athletic, charming, and naturally confident. Donovan is best remembered for a 42-episode stint as bad boy Jeremy Horton on NBC's Days Of Our Lives.

Jessica Stroup (Erin Silver) appears alongside The Beautiful Life's Mischa Barton in the horror/thriller, Homecoming. In Homecoming a woman takes revenge on her ex when he returns to town with a new girlfriend. Homecoming paints the town red on July 17, 2009. Check out the trailer here.

Dustin Milligan (Ethan Ward) has three films lined up after getting the boot from 90210. The first to be released is Extract, a comedy from Mike Judge (Office Space) which stars Mila Kunis, Ben Affleck, Kristen Wiig and Jason Bateman. Extract hits theaters on September 4, 2009. Tristan Wilds (Dixon Wilson) will be seen later this year in Red Tails. In this historical drama, Tristan plays Ray 'Ray Gun' Gannon, one of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American squadron to see combat in World War 2.

Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna Tate-Duncan) appears in the sci-fi/horror/thriller Altitude, currently in post-production and scheduled for release in 2010. In Altitude, a rookie pilot and her four friends are faced with a life or death battle with a mysterious supernatural force that makes the ground below them disappear and wants them all dead. I guess that's what happens when you start charging for luggage and food. I'm just sayin'...

Annalynne McCord (Naomi Clark) arrives in Amexica later this year. That's not a typo folks. No plot announced. Feel free to make one up. I could, but I'm too tired.
