Producers have tapped a familiar face to star in the new pilot Nomads about a group of young backpackers who work with the CIA on secret missions.

Scott Porter who is best known for playing paraplegic ex-high school football star quarterback turned sports agent Jason Street during the first three seasons of critically acclaimed drama Friday Night Lights has signed on the dotted line to headline the possible new series.
Incidentally, Porter's former Friday Night Lights co-star Minka Kelly appeared in Body Politic, a pilot for a CW series last year that did not make the fall schedule.
The CW will announce it's fall schedule during upfront week in mid-May.
Adrianna Plays For The Other Team When 90210 Returns!
As teased in this blog a few months ago, 90210's Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) -- fresh from a bad break up with Navid, will dabble in a bit of same sex experimentation. A just released promotional still from an upcoming episode of the series shows Adrianna in a makeout session with openly gay student Gia (co-star Rumer Willis). How long will this experimentation last? I don't know, but here's the pic.

After a long hiatus, 90210 returns with all new episodes this Tuesday, March 9th at 8pm. Will you be watching?
Superman Flies Again - Smallville To Return This Fall!

The CW announced late yesterday that it's longest running series, Smallville will return next fall for an unprecedented 10th season.
Smallville has earned the right to return based on strong performances the series has produced after a move to Friday from its long established home on Thursday nights. Friday is typically the second lowest viewing night of the week, yet in its 9th season, Smallville has been able to increase viewership for the evening.
The current season of Smallville has been somewhat of a creative renaissance for the show, as many have cited this year's episodes as some of the best in show history.
Last month, The CW announced the renewals of five other series (Gossip Girl, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, America's Next Top Model and 90210). When Smallville did not appear on the list of returnees, many thought this to be the end of Clark Kent and company. Clearly, this is not the case.
Smallville airs on Fridays at 8pm (but you knew that already).
Are you happy that Smallville will continue next year? Tell us what you think.

No Surprise! Anders Will Be A Bad Guy On The Vampire Diaries!

True to every major character he has played recently on TV, David Anders will arrive in Mystic Falls on April 15th as a no-goodnik. David Anders is always the bad guy and it will be no different on The Vampire Diaries, Anders will play Jonathan Gilbert, the uncle of Elena and Jeremy. When Jonathan Gilbert first pops up, it will be to sell Elena and Jeremy's father's medical office. According to an article published in Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Kevin Williamson says there is more than meets the eye to the elder Gilbert. "He has to sign the escrow papers but he isn’t quite ready to give the office up,” said Williamson. “But like everyone else in town, he’s there for something [else]. His intentions are not pure.”
Anders is perhaps best known for his role as the devious Sark on Alias and had a memorable story arc during season 2 of Heroes as the not quite immortal villain Adam Monroe. Anders recently completed a stint as terrorist Josef Bazhaev on 24.
High Society's Jules Kirby Blasts Show!

Jules Kirby, High Society's resident bee-yotch is unhappy at the way the editors of her new show have chosen to portray her.
In Wednesday's series premiere, Jules is seen berating a hotel employee and heard belittling minorities with such demeaning remarks as my friends do tend not to be homosexuals, fat or Jewish people and I use the N word sometimes... and I really think it should be okay to say.
On her Facebook page, Ms. Kirby fought back. "I am sorry if you were offended. The show is scripted and we are given lines and characters. My grandmother is married to a Jew ... Everything was cut and pasted to make it look like I was a stupid bitch and I regret that they do not do a better job of saying it is a docu-soap, not a reality show," Kirby wrote.
What do you think? Were you offended my Jules' remarks or do you think she was edited to look bad for dramatic effect? Weigh in!

One Tree Hill's Michaela McManus Cast In CW's Nomads!

Michaela McManus who played Lindsey Strauss on One Tree Hill a couple of season's ago and more recently appeared as A.D.A. Kim Greylek on Law & Order: SVU has joined the cast of Nomads, a new pilot for The CW that may find its way onto the fall schedule, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reported today.
According to Ausiello, McManus will play "a brave and resourceful Army Brat determined to earn a place in the CIA. She finds herself fighting an attraction to her handler and a fellow agent-in-training."
The "fellow agent-in-training" will be played by Friday Night Lights' Scott Porter.
The CW will announce its 2010-2011 schedule on May 20th.
Tinsley Mortimer Calls Out Jules Kirby!

Last week I reported that High Society's Jules Kirby was miffed at the producers of her CW reality show for editing her "character" to appear racist, elitist and just plain bitchy. In last Wednesday's High Society series premiere, Kirby berates a hotel employee and insults African Americans, Jews, the obese and gay people with such comments as "My friends do tend not to be homosexuals, fat or Jewish people and I use the N word sometimes... and I really think it should be okay to say."
Kirby alleged on her Facebook page that her comments and actions were either taken out of context or fed to her by producers.
Now, in an interview with TV Guide, Tinsley Mortimer, the socialite star of High Society sets the record straight and pulls no punches on how she feels about her co-star's comments and allegations.
"For her to say that it was sort of scripted and that she was fed those lines is absolutely untrue," Mortimer said. Referring to the video from the show, Mortimer continues, "It's clear that she's not being manipulated, that she is actually saying this stuff. And it's shocking to me.
It's unfortunate and it's hard to be lumped into a show with somebody like that. Obviously those aren't my views at all and I don't want to be accountable for her actions. It's scary and shocking.
And I'm sorry, if she were fed those lines and still chose to say them, I mean, that's also her fault," said Mortimer.
Let the catfight begin...
High Society airs tonight at 930pm after America's Next Top Model and encores on Friday at 930pm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tisdale will play the "fiercely intense" cheerleading captain of the Hellcats, a competitive college cheerleading team. Ashley's character knocks heads with roommate Marti, "a college girl from the wrong side of the tracks who, after losing her scholarship because of budget cutbacks and her mother's chronic irresponsibility" joins the team and just may turn out to be their ticket to a championship.
