Supernatural Scoop From Comic-Con!

Supernatural held its panel at Comic-Con over the weekend. Here are some tidbits about the new season to keep you bedeviled until the first episode is unveiled on September 10th:

Castiel has an agenda that will be revealed by the end of the second episode of the new season.

Dean will travel to the future and see the Apocalypse.

God will be a character in the upcoming season.

There will be a lot of fallout between Sam & Dean following the events of last season.

Meg Masters will return to cause more trouble for Sam & Dean.

Several other characters will return including Sam's girlfriend Jessica (played by Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki), mother and daughter hunters Ellen & Jo Harvelle (Samantha Ferris and Alona Tal), as well as Rufus Turner (Steven Williams).

Lucifer played by Mark Pellegrino (Lost, Dexter) will appear in several episodes throughout the season.

Sam will continue to struggle with his blood addiction.

This is the fifth and final chapter in a planned 5-season storyline, but creator and executive producer Eric Kripke teases that the show could go on past this year. "This is the last chapter of this volume and we plan on telling it well and climactically, but we are certainly also batting around ideas and there's no reason there can't be another volume. There's no reason another new epic story can't begin. We're not going to stretch this one out past its expiration, we're not going to drag this one into a place it isn't. We're going to tell this one the way it's supposed to be told, and it's going to end, but another story can begin. And that's what we're preparing for and we'll just sort of see how the season goes."
