CW Shout Outs!

I'm a day late and a Canadian dollar short (roughly 87 cents for those of you playing at home), but I'd like to wish all of our CW stars hailing from the Great White North a belated Happy Canada Day. Hey, I'm from Brooklyn...what do I know about these things? Anyway, there sure are a bunch of 'em. Bet you didn't know...

America's Next Top Model judge Jay Manuel is from Toronto, Ontario.

...so is 90210's Shenae Grimes (Annie Wilson).

Shaun Sipos soon to appear as David Breck on Melrose Place is from Victoria, British Columbia.

Chris William Martin, who'll play Zach in the highly anticipated new series The Vampire Diaries is from Burnaby, British Columbia. Don't know what a Burnaby is, but I like the sound of it. Say it. Bur-na-by. Kind of rolls off the tongue, right?

Erica Durance, Smallville's Lois Lane hails from Calgary, Alberta.

Ben Hollingsworth who'll play Christopher Andrews in The Beautiful Life: TBL, which incidentally will be shooting on the streets of New York very soon, was born in Brockville, Ontario.

Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna Tate-Duncan) of 90210 and Jessica Lucas (formerly of 90210 and coming to The CW this fall as Riley Richmond on Melrose Place) are both Vancouver girls. Wow, we have 2 Jessicas from Vancouver...what were the chances?

Kristin Kreuk, Smallville's Lana Lang also calls Vancouver home - or at least she was born there.

So many Canucks, you'd think the "C" in CW stands for Canadian, ay!

...and because after 233 years, it's OK to forgive, here's a shout out to all of our CW stars who were born across the pond in England. We'd like to wish these Brits a Happy Independence Day. No hard feelings.

Mischa Barton soon to appear as Sonja Stone in The Beautiful Life: TBL was born in London, but raised in New York (Blimey, I don't know if that counts, but all the same, we wish Mischa a very Happy 4th!).

Nigel Barker, America's Next Top Model photographer extraordinaire who just might have the best job in the world is also from London.

Callum Blue, Smallville's General Zod was born in London.

London-born Ashley Madekwe (who appeared with Callum Blue in Showtime's Secret Diary Of A Call Girl) will appear as Marissa Delfina in The Beautiful Life: TBL.

Finally, Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl's Chuck Bass has positively mastered the snooty American accent. The Bass-hole does an amazing job considering he's actually a Brit from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England.
