Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Colin Egglesfield (Auggie Kirkpatrick on Melrose Place)

2:51PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1

Last seen on All My Children as Erica Kane's previously thought to have been aborted (doctor/TV producer/corporate mogul/ bad guy turned good guy turned bad guy) son Josh Madden who was shot to death by his brother-in-law. His heart saved the life of his comatose half-sister. Gotta love the soaps!

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Katie Cassidy (Ella Simms on Melrose Place)

3:05PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1

Currently trying to head off her own death (or is she the serial killer?) on CBS' Harper's Island. Katie is the daughter of the Partridge Family's David Cassidy and the niece of another 70's pop-star heartthrob, Shaun Cassidy. Sharp-eyed PIX viewers will remember Katie Cassidy as the original Ruby on The CW's Supernatural. Welcome back Katie!

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Michael Rady (Jonah Miller on Melrose Place)

3:27PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 47

As Max Tyler on ABC Family's GREEK, Michael Rady currently appears as the boyfriend of the Zeta-Beta's very own Casey Cartwright. Methinks that unless Casey moves to Melrose Place soon, this relationship is SO over. But what do I know? Michael Rady is also remembered as high school teacher Doug Stephens on CBS' 70's era cult favorite, Swingtown.

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Jessica Lucas (Riley Richmond on Melrose Place)

3:29PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 3

Jessica Lucas appeared most recently on 90210 for 4 episodes as Kimberly MacIntyre. You remember her. She was the trouble-making transfer student at West Beverly who turned out to be a 25-year-old undercover-Narc hired by Harry to weed out drugs in the school. Weed out. Get it? Anyhoo...until Kimberly was outed as a cop, she almost cost teacher Ryan his job when everyone thought he was having a sexual relationship with a student. See. You know her. Jessica Lucas also appeared as Lily in the JJ Abrams produced horror flick, Cloverfield.

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Ashley Simpson-Wentz (Violet Foster on Melrose Place)

3:38PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 3

The much better-half of Fall-Out Boy Pete Wentz and the mother of Bronx Mowgli (poor kid), Ashley was last seen on PIX as Cecilia Smith on the long-running WB drama 7th Heaven. Can a Jessica Simpson cameo be on the way? Here's hoping!

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Stephanie Jacobsen (Lauren Yung on Melrose Place)

4:17PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 4

Stephanie Jacobsen was last seen as Jesse Flores on Fox' sci-fi favorite Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. In Terminator: SCC, Jesse Flores was the Resistance fighter girlfriend of Derek Reese who was played by Brian Austin-Green who starred as David Silver on the original Beverly Hills 90210, the series that spawned the original Melrose Place. See how it all comes together?

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Shaun Sipos (David Breck on Melrose Place)

4:21PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1

Shaun Sipos is a Canadian actor who was last seen as a regular on CBS' Shark. He has also been seen in guest starring roles on such series as Southland, ER, CSI: Miami and Smallville where he was credited as "Chloe's Boy Thing." I'm sure he can act, but with a credit like that, I'm guessing the girls are gonna love him no matter what.

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews on Melrose Place)

4:23PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 265

Hey, wait...didn't Sydney die years ago on the original Melrose Place, you say? So what? You've never seen a prime time soap before? Don't worry. All will be explained. ..And it's GOOD! By the way, Laura Leighton is married to Doug Savant who played gay resident Matt Fielding on the original Melrose Place and now stars on Desperate Housewives as Tom Scavo.

Hey...Don't I Know You? Re-introducing the new stars of CW Prime: Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini on Melrose Place)

4:30PM | June 9, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1

Everyone remembers Thomas Calabro from his starring role as Dr. Michael Mancini on the original Melrose Place. He was also recently seen as Senator Ken Logan, the adulterer father of Zee-Bee-Zee pledge Rebecca Logan on ABC Family's GREEK . On Melrose, Dr. Michael Mancini had an affair with his sister-in-law Sydney Andrews (and at least ten others). So, basically...not much has changed for Thomas Calabro in the last 17 years. Welcome to The CW!

News From The Land Of CW: One Tree Hill Forward Again?

One Tree Hill Flashes Forward

Rumors in cyberspace abound that One Tree Hill might take another great leap forward when it returns this fall. This time around...expect a flash forward where the action picks up one year after last season's finale. We'll keep you posted...

Brian Austin-Green Not Joining One Tree Hill

10:37AM | June 12, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1076

With the departures of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, One Tree Hill will be stocking up on new characters when it returns for a 7th season this fall. Hollywood trade papers and the internet have been abuzz this week with the news that Robert Buckley (Privileged, Lipstick Jungle) will join the cast as Clayton, Nathan Scott's new sports agent and friend. This is the role originally offered to Brian Austin-Green, who will NOT be joining One Tree Hill.
No casting announcements yet, but One Tree Hill will also be adding two additional characters (Haley's sister, Quinn, and a supermodel named Alex who works for Brooke).

Supernatural Goes Back Into Production On July 2nd

Principal photography for season 5 of Supernatural begins July 2nd in British Columbia. E! Online caught up with Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) at a recent Hollywood event and got the scoop on the new season:

Jensen tells us that he imagines the boys have a crucial, but not necessarily pivotal, role to play in the war between heaven and hell. (Think of Jim Beaver's Bobby and the Winchesters more as lieutenants and corporals than generals or field marshals.). Jensen says he's always wondered, "Are Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) really that important that they're going to be the focal point of this apocalypse? Or are they just going to be caught in the crossfire, trying to use whatever they can to help fight for the good? I think it's going to be more of this big, gigantic thing going on and we're stuck in the middle. I don't think we're necessarily going to be the focal point of anybody's hunt. We're going to lend whatever help we can to Castiel (Misha Collins) and the angels to do their job. But what that is, I don't know."As for poor Sam, Jensen says that Sam's blood-addiction will remain an issue next season: "The demon stuff is still coursing through his veins, and he's got that to deal with. The season finale ended with the big, giant realization that he was being duped into becoming what he didn't want to be. So now he's got to deal with that and try to get back to neutral."

Season five hasn't gone into production yet, but Ackles also addressed rumors of a 6th season of Supernatural:

"That started over in England. Jared and I were over there doing a convention. Everything was being lined up that this was the final season. We basically just said that our contracts were for six years--whether they use us for the six years is completely up to them. As it looks right now, it won't [happen]. It's like, if there is, we're going to be a part of it. I guess the studio's fine with it. I think it's just the network, you know? It's their call."

The CW Nabs Teen Choice Award Nominations

Gossip Girl will go head-to-head with 90210 in the battle for Choice TV Drama at this year's Teen Choice Awards broadcast by the Fox Television Network this summer. Other nominees in this category are Grey's Anatomy, House and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager.

Gossip Girl received 10 nominations including Choice TV Actor: Drama ( Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford), Choice TV Actress: Drama ( Blake Lively and Leighton Meester), Choice Male Hottie (Chace Crawford), Choice Female Hottie (Blake Lively) and Choice TV: Villain ( Ed Westwick). Gossip Girl's 10 nominations tied High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Miley Cyrus for second most nominations overall and most for any TV series.

90210's Dustin Milligan and Annalynn McCord also received nods in the Choice TV Actor and Actress categories, while Annalynn McCord and Tristan Wilds were both nominated as Breakout Stars. 90210 will fight it out with Fringe, Glee, JONAS and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager for Choice TV: Breakout Show.

Rob Estes and Lori Laughlin (90210) were nominated in the Choice TV: Parental Unit category along with Matthew Settle (Dan and Jenny's Dad on Gossip Girl).

Other CW shows receiving nominations were Smallville (Choice TV Actor: Action Adventure - Tom Welling, Choice TV Actress: Action Adventure - Kristin Kreuk, Choice TV: Sidekick - Allison Mack and Choice TV: Villain - Michael Rosenbaum) and America's Next Top Model (Choice TV: Reality Competition, Choice TV: Personality - Tyra Banks and Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star - Teyona Anderson).

OK... they ain't the Emmy's, but who wants to watch a stuffy awards show anyway?

Brian Austin-Green is Metallo On Smallville

11:28AM | June 18, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 686

Well, that didn't take long. After passing on a gig at One Tree Hill, Brian Austin-Green has decided to take on Clark Kent as kryptonite-fueled cyborg baddie Metallo in at least the first two new episodes of Smallville this fall. DC Comics' Metallo is the alter ego of Daily Planet reporter John Corben. In just a few months, Brian has gone from fighting cyborgs on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to becoming one on Smallville. Smallville kicks off its new season on Friday, September 25th at 8pm.

In other CW news:

Newcomer Shantel Van Santen will join the cast of One Tree Hill as Haley's free-spirited sister Quinn. Shantel has appeared in one episode of CSI: NY and can be seen in the 3-D horror/thriller The Final Destination when it is released on August 28th.

Danneel Harris is returning as Rachel on One Tree Hill for a bunch of episodes next season.

Dustin Milligan's departure from 90210 will be explained in the season-opener. Apparently Ethan decided to stay with his dad in Montana.

At The Movies With Your Favorite CW Stars - 90210 Edition

11:54AM | June 22, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 2

Where and when can you catch your favorite CW stars at a multiplex near you? I have the lowdown on films making their way to your neighborhood. First up - the cast of 90210:

Jessica Stroup (Erin Silver) appears alongside The Beautiful Life's Mischa Barton in the horror/thriller, Homecoming. In Homecoming a woman takes revenge on her ex when he returns to town with a new girlfriend. Homecoming paints the town red on July 17, 2009. Check out the trailer here.

Dustin Milligan (Ethan Ward) has three films lined up after getting the boot from 90210. The first to be released is Extract, a comedy from Mike Judge (Office Space) which stars Mila Kunis, Ben Affleck, Kristen Wiig and Jason Bateman. Extract hits theaters on September 4, 2009. This one looks funny! Check out the trailer here.

Tristan Wilds (Dixon Wilson) will be seen later this year in Red Tails. In this historical drama, Tristan plays Ray 'Ray Gun' Gannon, one of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American squadron to see combat in World War 2.

Jessica Lowndes (Adrianna Tate-Duncan) appears in the sci-fi/horror/thriller Altitude, currently in post-production and scheduled for release in 2010. In Altitude, a rookie pilot and her four friends are faced with a life or death battle with a mysterious supernatural force that makes the ground below them disappear and wants them all dead. I guess that's what happens when you start charging for luggage and food. I'm just sayin'...

Annalynne McCord (Naomi Clark) arrives in Amexica later this year. That's not a typo folks. No plot announced. Feel free to make one up. I could, but I'm too tired.

A Return From The Dead On Supernatural

4:01PM | June 23, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1112

Adrianne Palicki (known to TV audiences as Tyra Collette on NBC & DirecTV's acclaimed drama, Friday Night Lights) will reprise her role as Sam's girlfriend, Jessica Moore in a fall episode of Supernatural. This is an interesting turn of events since Jessica died at the hands of demons in the pilot episode of the series. To date, Palicki has appeared in 3 episodes of Supernatural - most recently in a 2007 story called What Is And What Never Should Be in which Sam's brother Dean is presented with an alternate reality. Palicki is slated to appear in one episode of Supernatural before returning to FNL to wrap-up her storyline on that show.

In 90210 news, AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi) revealed to E! Online that the cast found out last week who Annie hit with her car in the season finale and says "it's really bad." 90210 returns with fresh episodes on Tuesday, September 8th at 8pm before the series premiere of Melrose Place.

Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen Is 'Pretty Reckless.'

12:51PM | June 24, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 46

With a strong, raspy voice that belies her almost 16 years, Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen is forging a career in rock music. It's a career that she hopes will last a lifetime.

Her band, The Pretty Reckless, concludes a month-long North American tour this weekend with appearances in Portland, Or, Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle. She will also have an album out this fall on Interscope Records and is pushing to have a single and video ready this August.

For Taylor Momsen, music is very personal and close to her heart.

"I'm so baring my soul to people, so it's like, you know...you're putting yourself out there completely for them to judge 100% and particularly 'cause I write everything, it's like you're getting my diary. So, you know you're kinda..., I mean here I am. Go ahead and judge me."

Momsen admits that the reaction from fans is initially shellshock, but says the more they see it, the more they get into it and the more enthusiastic they are about it. "I'm sure everyone's expecting it to be really pop and the kinda typical actress gone singer route which isn't what it is for me at all. It's like, music is my first passion, it's my first love. It's everything that means everything to me."

But fear not Gossip Girl fans, Taylor is not abandoning you. Newly anointed Queen B, Jenny Humphrey will be back on your screens soon. Filming on Gossip Girl resumes in early July.

Callum Blue Joins Smallville

5:20PM | June 24, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 1

Callum Blue joins Smallville as a series regular this fall in the role of villainous General Zod, one of Superman's greatest arch-enemies. Blue is best known for his roles in such Showtime series as Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, The Tudors and Dead Like Me. He also appeared on The WB's short-lived series, Related.
General Zod's return from the Phantom Zone was strongly hinted at during the 8th season finale of Smallville. Callum Blue makes his first appearance as Zod in the 9th season opener. Smallville returns with fresh episodes in a new time period, Fridays at 8pm beginning September 25th.

The CW Pilot You Were Never Supposed To See

4:55PM | June 25, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 4

The CW's fall pilot Body Politic was not picked up by the network, but there has been a groundswell of support on the net from people who have seen it and want The CW to reverse its decision and get it on the air as a mid-season replacement. You can count me among them. Clips that I have seen of Body Politic look promising.

Body Politic tells the story of Washington, D.C. politics through the eyes of up-and-coming staffers. According to sources on the web, the pilot which features Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars), Gabrielle Union (Life), Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Jay Hernandez (Six Degrees) and Tim Matheson (The West Wing), among others is not completely dead, but is a long shot to be revived. A Gossip Girl spinoff is still held in higher regard and of the two options would likely make the cut before Body Politic.

You can check out clips of the pilot here and judge for yourself.

CW Scooplets

Kim Kardashian will be a guest judge in an episode of America's Next Top Model when it returns for its thirteenth cycle this fall. Kim is a big fan of Top Model and Tyra Banks. "Wow, this cycle is pretty amazing! It's definitely my favorite so far. It was such an honor to be a guest judge. I have watched this show for years and am such a huge Tyra Banks fan! She is such a smart business woman and such a role model, says Kardashian."

Jennie Garth is not signed for next season's 90210, but will in all likelihood be invited back.

Law & Order's Elisabeth Rohm will guest star as a socialite in an at least one episode of 90210 next season. Her character will be a source of irritation for AnnaLynne McCord's Naomi.

Gossip Girl's Serena van der Woodsen will not be heading to Brown this fall after all. Blake Lively tells TV Guide's Matt Mitovich that she will have her hands full chasing after her father. "She's thrown for this huge loop," says Lively. "There are a lot of things she's going to find out about her mother and about her background."

Gossip Girl Is 'Privileged' - Major Casting Announcement!

11:14AM | June 26, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 297

Joanna Garcia (Megan on "Privileged") is returning to The CW this fall. She has been cast as a love interest for Chace Crawford's Nate in Gossip Girl. Her 4-episode arc as Bree Buckley will begin on the third season opener - Monday, September 14th at 9pm. According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Garcia's Bree will be "an irreverent, slightly evil Miss America-type who hails from a conservative Southern family."

joanna-garcia.jpg

..and for those of you who miss Privileged, here is some scoop on what WOULD HAVE happened had the show returned for a second season:

Megan's sexual indiscretion was going to hit Will like a ton of bricks resulting in a bender that would see him hit rock-bottom.

Megan was going to get a new BFF who eventually sleeps with Will's dad.

Megan was going to sleep with David (Robert Buckley - who is joining One Tree Hill this fall).

I'm detecting a theme here...

Speak Of The Devil - Supernatural Welcomes Lucifer!

5:05PM | June 26, 2009 | posted by Intern | comments: 2

Sam and Dean will get their first look at Satan himself this fall when Mark Pellegrino joins Supernatural in a recurring role as Lucifer. He surfaces in the season opener on Thursday, September 10th at 9pm following the series premiere of The Vampire Diaries.

If Mark Pellegrino looks familiar to you, you are probably a fan of Lost or Dexter. On Lost, Pellegrino played Jacob who was killed by Ben in the May season finale (or was he?). On Dexter, he definitely did bite the bullet. He played Rita's ex who was offed by the eponymous serial killer in season one of the Showtime drama.

For my money, Reaper's creepy Ray Wise served up the perfect Prince Of Darkness.

Newly Engaged Leighton Meester Is A Good Girl Gone BAD!

2:54PM | June 29, 2009 | posted by Intern

According to the gossip mongers at Page Six, Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and actor Sebastian Stan are itchin' to get hitched. While representatives of the couple have refused comment, both stars recently changed their Facebook relationship status to "engaged." No word yet on when the two plan to tie the knot...

The Gossip Girl beauty is featured in Cobra Starship's new music video Good Girls Go Bad. The catchy tune was written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. Leighton shows off her vocal chops at around the 1:30 mark. Maybe she can sing it at her wedding. Check it out below!

More Eye Candy For The Ladies On 90210!

90210 has cast Abercrombie & Fitch model and actor Trevor Donovan to appear as a semi-regular this fall. He will replace Dustin Milligan (Ethan) as the new eye candy for the ladies. According to Entertainment Weekly, Donovan will play Teddy, West Beverly's own version of JFK Jr. - gorgeous, smart, athletic, charming, and naturally confident. Donovan is best remembered for a 42-episode stint as bad boy Jeremy Horton on NBC's Days Of Our Lives.
