Hellcats, The new CW cheerleader drama from Smallville's Tom Welling was the second most anticipated new show of the 2010-2011 TV season according to an unscientific poll produced by our friends at Eonline.com!

Hellcats (starring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka) received 24% of the vote, right behind CBS's Hawaii Five-O remake, which garnered 27% of all votes!

The first wave of nominees for the annual Teen Choice Awards have been announced and The CW has copped quite a handful of kudos! Here are some highlights:

Gossip Girl leads with 6 nominations including Choice TV Show Drama, Actor/Actress in a Drama, and TV Villain! Gossip Girl tied Iron Man 2 for most nominations and edged out both The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Fox’ Glee, which received 5 nominations each!

While the TV season only officially ended a couple of weeks ago, the wheels of production for the fall should be starting up again shortly (as already reported, Gossip Girl goes back into production in 3 or 4 weeks with the first two episodes filmed in the City Of Light, Paris).

Between the upcoming TCA Summer Press Tour and Comic-Con, you can expect scoop, galore!

From July 22-25th, the annual Comic-Con convention will take place in San Diego. Several CW shows have already been announced as participants at the annual geek-fest, Expect panel discussions for The Vampire Diaries, Smallville, Supernatural and Nikita, the hot new spy thriller with action 'flicktress', Maggie Q!

CW (and WB) stars of the past, present and future will come together in the upcoming Sony Pictures release, Easy A.

Easy A stars Emma Stone (The House Bunny) as a high school student who relies on the rumor mill to advance her social reputation.

Easy A features such well-known CW/WB faces as Penn Badgely (Gossip Girl's Dan Humphrey), Aly Michalka (star of this fall's new cheerleader drama, Hellcats), Dan Byrd (Justin Tolchuck on Aliens In America and currently on ABC's Cougar Town) and Amanda Bynes (formerly of What I Like About You).

Easy A opens at a theater near you on September 17th.

Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford was arrested early this morning outside of a bar in Plano, Texas after he was caught with a small amount of marijuana, according to gossip mongers over at TMZ.

Crawford was charged with a misdemeanor in the parking lot of Ringo's Pub after cops searched his car and found an unlit joint. In Texas, the maximum penalty for possession of less than 2 ounces of pot is 6 months in jail.

The Lubbock, Texas native was released after having his mugshot taken and posting bond. He will most likely not face any time behind bars, but I'm guessing a stiff fine and some community service are in the offering.

As most of you already know, Gossip Girl's first two episodes of the new season will be filmed in Paris. Now it looks like the producers of Gossip Girl are in the process of casting an actress to play Eva, a new French girlfriend for Chuck Bass. Huh? What's that you say? I don't know much more than that (c'est la vie), but here is what The CW has released so far on next season's plotlines:

Season four will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris…until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity. Blair swore off Chuck forever but will this changed man woo Blair into having a change of heart, or will Queen B set her sights on ruling Columbia University? And as for that baby…?

Filming on season four gets underway in July.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Trevor Donovan, who plays tennis pro Teddy Montgomery on The CW's 90210 has been upped to series regular for next season -- and senior year at West Beverly promises to be filled with lots of intrigue. Just because the TV season is over, doesn't mean you have to wait until September to get a taste of The CW's new hits in waiting. The network has generously posted trailers for both Hellcats and Nikita and I have generously decided to pass them on to you right here.

Hellcats will air on Wednesdays following an-all new cycle of America's Next Top Model (the winner of which will, for the first time, grace the cover of Italian Vogue). Nikita will follow The Vampire Diaries on Thursdays at 9pm.

After a pre-law student (Aly Michalka) loses her scholarship, she has to join the college's competitive cheerleading squad. The ensemble cast includes Aly Michalka, Ashley Tisdale, Ben Browder, Elena Esovolova, Gail O'Grady, Heather Hemmens, Matt Barr, Robbie Jones and Sharon Leal.

Nikita

Based on the movie and TV franchise, Maggie Q (Mission Impossible III) plays a spy and assassin for a top U.S. government agency who will stop at nothing to bring their powerful operation to an end. The cast includes Melinda Clarke (The Vampire Diaries), Lyndsy Fonseca (Desperate Housewives), Ashton Holmes, Tiffany Hines, Aaron Stanford, Shane West (ER) and Xander Berkeley (24).

All good things have to come to an end.

Tom Welling announced last night that Smallville will conclude at the end of next season.

The announcement was made last night at an event in Beverly Hills.

Welling had been expected to make the announcement at tomorrow's upfront presentation in New York.

Expect the Unexpected.

Fans of One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected can breathe a huge sigh of relief. That's because CW honchos have renewed both fan favorites for next season. One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected were on the bubble to return, but the network has given the go ahead for orders of at least 12 episodes of each series.

The news was not so good for fans of Melrose Place. That show is officially kaput!

The network has also ordered at least two new series for the fall:

Hellcats, the college cheerleading drama from Smallville's Tom Welling (starring Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale) and Nikita, an updated take on the movie and TV series Le Femme Nikita and Point Of No Return, starring action film star Maggie Q.

A formal announcement and the rest of the CW fall schedule will be presented to advertisers on Thursday morning at Madison Square Garden.

For all you Chloe Sullivan fans out there, I present to you LegendaryChloe.com, a website devoted to honoring both the character of Chloe Sullivan and her portrayer, Allison Mack for representing a positive image and role model for young women throughout the past 9 seasons of Smallville.

Legendary, a group generally comprised of young, professional women created this fansite to pay tribute to the positive representation of young women in the media in order to promote and encourage values young women should strive to achieve. According to the site, Chloe Sullivan is a role model for young women because of such traits as intelligence, tenacity and heroism.

Legendary, which earlier this year made a $3,000 donation to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in Mack's name through an initiative called Operation: Truth & Justice has also delved into the creative.

Last week, a one-minute long tribute spot celebrating Sullivan and Mack aired on PIX' Los Angeles sister station, KTLA prior to the Smallville season finale. Legendary crafted the spot which was written and paid for in its entirety by devotees of the actress. The group hopes to expand awareness of the project and its message and may seek to air the commercial tribute in other markets in the future, including New York.

With NBC's cancellation of Mercy, Michelle Trachtenberg might have a little extra time on her hands next season. Could that mean we will be seeing more Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl in the fall? Executive Producer Stephanie Savage had this to say about this very recent development:

It certainly opens the door to expanding her role. We just got the news a few days ago so we’re still in process of figuring out how it affects our plans. We love Michelle and Georgie and would welcome both of them spending much more time with us.

Season 3 still has a week to go, but we already have the deets on what to expect during the first couple of weeks of Gossip Girl's 4th season premiering this fall!

The CW has announced that Gossip Girl will be shooting its first two episodes of the fall in the City Of Lights -- Paris. According to a network press release, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick will all be in Paris in early July to film scenes for the upcoming season. Good gig!

When Gossip Girl returns, Serena and Blair's summer in Paris will be interrupted "when a friend from home mysteriously appears on the scene," according to the network announcement.

“Paris has always been the ultimate extension of our Gossip Girl world -- the home of high fashion, Michelin star restaurants, chic night clubs, and Blair’s favorite sweet (macaroons, of course!),” says executive producer Stephanie Savage. “We’re thrilled to be able to share with our fans that this fall Gossip Girl is going to Paris. We hope that they’ll come along with Blair, Serena and Chuck for the first two episodes of season four.”

Hey Upper East Siders. You haven't seen the last of William Van Der Woodsen. E! is reporting that Billy Baldwin will most likely return to Gossip Girl to stir the pot when the hit show returns for a fourth season this fall! The hows, whys and whats have yet to be ironed out, but the actor is likely to appear occasionally on the show when someone is needed to stir up trouble (much in the way Michelle Trachtenberg has been utilized during the past few seasons). The likelihood of Baldwin becoming a series regular is remote, however -- since the actor lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife and three young kids. That would be one heck of a commute.

The Vampire Diaries season finale, an episode that co-star Nina Dobrev called "insane" when she visited the PIX Morning News last week airs this Thursday at 8pm. It promises to be memorable. The CW has announced that it will pair critical darling and cult-favorite vampire drama Moonlight with The Vampire Diaries this summer.

Moonlight, which originally aired on CBS during the 2007-2008 season will premiere on Thursday, June 3rd at 9pm on The CW. In all, 16 episodes were produced for CBS.

Moonlight stars Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St. John, a charming and immortal private investigator from Los Angeles who became a vampire 60 years ago and defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living. Moonlight also stars Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars) and Shannyn Sossamon (How To Make It In America).
